Typical Bossk Loadout

By buckero0, in Star Wars: Legion

My son and I are looking to play some legion this weekend. We have yet to trot out the deathlizard (not named dewback)

He seems like a decent sniper, but can he do more?

Do you put things like Overwatch or Emergency Stims?

How do you guys normally play him?

If I'm running him with Krennic, I'll have Overwatch for Deploy the garrison. I think E stims is a great choice. Hunter is great for the easy aim tokens against targets that are likely your bounty.

I run him with Hunter and recon intel. He can usually get into range turn 1 and start hitting something!

I am a huge fan of Bossk, he's a lot of fun to use. He's definetly someone you want to be very careful with using though, with only white defense die and no surge he goes down fast if he's concentrated on, so he needs to hide behind cover or at long range. I think his melee capabilities are a trap, yes they are useful in a last resort or if you can catch a vulnerable trooper squad, but you don't want to run him up the board to charge things because he won't last long.

In terms of upgrades, first pick for me is always emergency stims. An extra activation when he's about to go down is mighty handy given his pts cost. Plus you can actually do regeneration before applying wounds from e-stims, so there's actually a chance that any wounds you have on the e-stims won't kill Bossk because he'll regenerate the wounds. For training, I'd say hunter, Bossk needs aim tokens and with his range he's good at sniping enemy commanders/operatives. You could take a second training option, but I don't really think there's any that Bossk needs. Maybe overwatch or tenacity if I had the pts, but neither feel too important.

Hunter+Emergency Stims is the base build. You might add Overwatch if you have Krennic, but otherwise I'd leave it at that.

This blog is also very good reading for Bossk strategy if you're looking for more in depth advice.

People have already mentioned e-stims and hunter, so I'll leave that alone.

Tenacity might also be a fun pick if you want him to dive into melee.

I like running him with Targeting Scopes and Hunter, then keeping him at range 4. I haven't need estims keeping him that far from the fight. The scopes help a bunch when the white dice fail.
