So I like the TIE Bombers a lot and just recently got my hands on a couple of Defenders. I've been trying to make a good squad out of the two ships.

This is about the best I've come up with so far. Any help for a newer player to make a good Defender/Bomber list would be appreciated.

I have 2 Defenders and 3 Bombers, if that helps.

Definitely more bombers, less Defenders. The other way round, you'll get arc dodged to oblivion.

Rex is solid with a mini swarm of almost anything.

Maybe something like this? Jonus gives re-rolls and an Init boost to Deathfire, while the Defender does what Defenders do.

Rexler Brath with juke and 3x Scimitars with barrage rockets is my current preferred Rexler and Friends setup. No tricks, bombs, or gimmicks but it's a solid hammer and anvil setup

So I'm getting ready to take option #3 (More Bombers, Less Defenders) to a local tournament this weekend. Thanks for the great input!

BUT. . .

I noticed that if I take the Predator off Rexler Brath, I can put in Countess Ryad with Marksmanship instead.

The question for the X-Wing veterans here is which would be better? RB's outstanding ability to flip damage cards into criticals, or CR's more unpredictable movements?

I'm absolutely going to be going up against some droid swarms, for reference on why cluster missiles/bombs instead of Barrage Rockets.

I'd stick with Rex, he's generally more effective than Ryad. The main reason is less his ability and more his Init, notsomuch for catching opposing I5s but for countering enemy I4 arc dodging. Shooting 1st at I5 does make maximum use of his evade token, ofc.

Ryad is very good fun though, and a more interesting choice, so it depends what your main aim is. There will be decent number of games where it won't matter hugely which one you use, but Rex will cope with a greater variety of opposition overall.

Yeah, Rex's I value alone is worth Ryad's shenanigans any day

I also find that having Fire Control System on the Defender helps with variance.
