my homeboy convinced me to try star wars armada! i can't wait to blow up dem bad guy spaceships with lasers! can anyone here tell me what is da strongest rebellion build so i can win every time?

You should buy three Interdictor Expansion Packs! Nobody would expect this.

Sorry! Just realized that you want to play rebels ! Your approach seemed so imperial to me ...

In Armada it's not the ship or the upgrade, that wins the match. Its the player, his/her commitment to his fleet, the experience with the game and the understanding for the tactical situation s/he's facing.

Just try things out, stick to the ships and playstyle you like and go on trying things out. The more fun you have, the more you will play the game. And the more you play the more you'll win. For that fun is the key to success in Armada!

Luckily this game has very decent balance so there wont be any list that will allow you to win with every time.

Of course there are things that are considered better than other things, but after the winning list from gen con last week will show that also the lesser gems can do very well in a well thought out list flown well.

The Rebels are tricky because every fleet has a very different play style. A Madine MC30 fleet is aggressive and tries to be close, Ackbar wants to slow roll and stay at long range, other fleets plan on sacrificing just the right amount of you own fleet for a big win in the match.

There is no "easy" fleet for the rebels, but maybe a kitted out MC80 with Ackbar and some support ships could be a good place to start learning about the game.
