A couple of OPG questions (Starbuck, Adama)

By xyretire2, in Battlestar Galactica

First, question about Adama's OPG ability: Can it be used following a skill check that was triggered by a Super Crisis Card? It is not technically affecting the results of the skill check itself, but discarding cards following a skill check is considered part of the skill check. I'm inclined to think that it cannot, but there is disagreement over this fact within my group.

Second, my question about Starbuck's OPG: If she activates the Engine Room on her turn, it says to treat the *next* Crisis card drawn this turn as if it had a prepare for jump icon. If Starbuck uses her OPG ability to discard the current crisis do the effects of the Engine Room carry over to the replacement Crisis?

For that matter the question about the Engine Room could apply to Laura Roslin's static ability. She is allowed to draw two Crisis cards on her turn. Does the Engine Room only apply to the first one she draws?

I think this might be in the FAQ, but it has been ruled that William Adama's OPG cannot be used after a Super Crisis Check. No OPGs may be used in conjunction with a Super Crisis Card.

I don't believe there has been a ruling on this, but based on text wording of both abilities, I would have to say the Engine Room does not carry over to the second card. The first card gets the Jump Icon, but if Starbuck discards it in favor of a new card, them's the breaks and you take your chances.

Roslin looks at two and picks one to resolve. It is considered, for all intents and purposes, the "next" card, so the jump icon would appear on that card. After all, the only person who would know for sure which of the two cards was the one picked would be the player playing Roslin. The game doesn't care which of the two cards it played, it "sees" the chosen card as the next card.
