Need help with deck

By Najarhm, in KeyForge

first of all, discard bad pennies. In your deck they have no synergy at all.

Second, discard key cheats if they come not in time (no reason to keep them, your untamed is not about amber generation). In time - either when you can forge the first turn you call untamed after you got key cheat, or you in lategame where you have 2 keys and few amber.

Third, discard truebaru if your opponent has Lights Out, Nature Call, Lost in the woods, fear, zookeeper etc. - cards that returns your creatures to deck/hand/archive/opponent archive without being destroyed - it might cost you the game.

Fourth, always play charette before terror, if you have them both 😃 . Always forgot it, can give you 2 aember).

Fifth, check your opponent decklist to understand value of guilty heart. Sometimes it is worth to keep, sometimes it is just one amber

this is a slow creature deck without nice "Play:" effects, so you have to establish board control in early game without focusing much on aember generation (should be afraid of mass removals in opponent deck and provoke to use them when not all of your creatures onboard, e.g.: set up board with few creatures nobody likes, such as noddy and dodger or pit deamon and snudge), and trying to keep your opponent off check with BnS, Charette, CtW, Magda, Miasma, Shaffles. If you were lucky to have pit deamon or shadow stealing creatures on board alive, then keeping opponent off check will be even easier.

Bad side of your deck: no arise, no troop call, so cannot return your creatures back until reshuffle. Another bad side - only protection is taunt truebaru which is probably will be discarded as I mentioned earler. So just drop creatures hoping that your opponent cannot deal with all of them.

PS this is not the best deck, you should understand it and not expect magic, but it can work nice if you flood the board with creatures.

Well, there's a small synergy with Penny and Mack the Knife. Use his action to destroy Penny (preferably after reaping with her if using Shadows that turn) and gain 1 aember for destroying her. It's not enough to hold on to them forever, but it's something at least if you set it up.

What are you talking about? With mack the Knife he can pop one of the pennies for an aember every turn. It's a seeker needle loop without the house restriction. That's great synergy!

(will go over the rest later but that just popped out at me)

Hey so, I bought this deck a few days ago. I would like some help to figure out some strategy, if there is one. Thanks in advance.

Hmm...

Dis side just looks like a generally useful layout. No clear combos except Snudge/The Terror if you happen to get a turn where your opponent has no aember.

Shadow wise... Booby Trap could hit a Truebaru & Dust Imp for a bunch of aember if you can get them damaged. As I said above, Mack the Knife hitting your bad pennies is some nice aember.

Then untamed is just... 4 apes with 2 queens? I'm surprised you don't have a troop call in there. Shame you have 2 key makers in that side without easy methods of generation.

The best combo possible it looks like is dominator bauble on WotE if she manages to live a turn. Bouncing Lifeward after sacrificing it or playing mind barb twice could be fun. She and snudge are your only good Silent Dagger targets, unfortunately.

Yeah it's subject to board wipes but sometimes in this game big creature decks can be more fun to play. I'd save the deck as a good one to play with newbies and show them how the game works.

You can just reap with Mack. Destroy bad penny with omni when you cannot drop her back - bad idea. Mack and penny is not working together) Seeker needle cannot reap, but Mack can. So I strongly disagree with you. Even more, destroying any own creature with mack except for dust imp etc (when you can get more than 1 amber) is at least useless, and in case of penny destroy on not-shadows turn even harmful, because mack gives exact same benefit for simple reap without destroy anybody from your side.

Queens with 4 apes has some staying power. If you manage to end a turn at 3 or 4 aember Chota or Keycharge could very well be online for next turn if you just reap.

Granted, it’s pretty situational, but there’s definitely potential there.

Depends since AoA introduced a lot of reaping punishment. If something would punish your people for reaping, you have an out for it.

still weak argument.

This is a rare case when you have

  1. reap-preventer from opponent side (should be AoA deck with specific cards)
  2. no option/wish to remove it (this deck can fight quite nicely and have 23 creatures which is big number, so this deck probably wants to reap)
  3. have already ready mack on the field (opponent probably wants to deal with him if he has opportunity)
  4. have a penny on table / hand
  5. call house shadows. Without this point you can still earn one amber, but you will gain a chain (not actually, but in fact penny preventing you to take another probably much more useful card)
  6. ... PROFIT! you supercombo brings you one amber

so basically, my general recommendation to discard pennies will remain the same and it is absolutely not "a great synergy" )

Yeah, the deck is very situational and @Narjhan will just need to play with it and figure out which directions to move with the deck. Be like water and figure out some great synergies on the fly. ;)
