So, rebellion in the rim campaign....

By ExplosiveTooka, in Star Wars: Armada

I just have been looking through it and **** does it look well balanced.

How are folks inclined to do a vassal/tts campaign?

Also, how do you see converting this to normal fleet size? I'd just say add half to all the numbers for all of the points listed, and increase starting fleet size to 300, max 375, and add a ship equivalent to the squad adding zones, maybe to the shipyards. base 45/23, each shipyard token spent adds 15 points? Also double objective points?

I'm inclined. Count me in

The rulebook has suggestions for 400 point campaigns on one of the pages. Not sure which page since I've only seen excerpts.

I heard the commander is "free". Does that mean you can use the 381 point SSD in the 400 point campaign?

This is what I’ve heard (balance in campaign). I’m just a little miffed that I couldn’t get my hands on a copy from GenCon. I am hoping they release this soon.

I would limit points to 375

I think like an escalation campaign would be cool start with 200, then in the first act you can go up to 250 point like normal, but in act 2 you can add ships/squadrons to you fleet up to 300 points if you drop a ship during this time you fortit the upgrades on that ship. you play the second act with a 300 point fleet and upgrade up to 350 then after the end of that round upgrade your fleet with more ships/squadrons up to 400 3 act is played with a full 400 point list.

I'm going to alter the rules to use fleets up to 800 points. I dislike small games....

Your call, but that seems a little antithematic. Rebellion in the Rim is supposed to be about small scale border conflicts. Of course it's up to you and your friends, but It'd be a bit odd to have a geurilla skirmish featuring a rebel fleet larger than anything we see before Endor.

While I can understand that, I don't care for small skirmishes. I want large fleet actions, fluff and background notwithstanding. Oh, I'll certainly try the regular rules as well, but for me the game is far more fun at 800 points or above. Best game I played was 1500 points.

Ive been the same with every game I've ever played, lol. In 40k I ended up with over 6,000 points of Blood Angels.

My SSD will be in my hands tomorrow, and I'm already planning some large games to use the production variant. 😬

Looks like we have enough interest on the discord. When the current vassal tourney is over I'll post sign ups.

My understanding from the stream is that you need to do something special to unlock the use of the SSD in the campaign. No details on what that is, though.

Heh, I just heard the commander doesn't cost fleet points and there may be rules for starting the campaign at 400 points instead of 200. I'd assume there would be something stopping you from using the 381 point SSD. But since I don't have RitR yet I'm just speculating about what I've heard.

I haven't seen the rulebook yet. How many games is a campaign?

When I have it in my hands I will be happy to join a vassal campaign
