Cannot Get Your Ship Out! August Articles!
I'm jealous, I was hoping to get my hands on Rebellion in the Rim. Alas, it was not available first thing yesterday and then sold out this morning.
Did they announce when Rebellion in the Rim going on general sale?

I think the closest thing we got was in the comming weeks so I would expect before the end of September at the latest.

Part 4: Thoughts on my FleetSo like I alluded to before game 7, this WAS the last ride for this fleet. The New Meta with a Royal Flush SSD (Annihilator, Kallus, Quad Laser Turrets - AKQ) EVAPORATES those Aces, and I know most of my store bought one (SOME of us remain Rebellion Ride or Die #CrynydYeet) so I'll be carving my way through those for a while. I also nearly got defenestrated by at least two friends in the lead-up to GenCon because of this fleet, just powering its way through whatever it can. There's room for discussion about the individual elements (is Rieekan too strong? Is Toryn? Wedge? Etc) but lemme ask you one question pre-August 1. Was Two-Ship still in existence? Then I'll take whatever I want to in order to counter it. I'm sorry that's a snide, crappy answer, but if I don't build the best fleet I can for me, I'm at the mercy of someone who brings Two-Ship or whatever that's the strongest build possible.
Nice summary.
But i don`'t think, that Yavaris; Rieekan, Squad Ball are not dead with the SSD. Maybe they are still the best answer against the big beast. Even if he is able to kill one ace each turn, the pure mass of damage the Yavaris can give might be enough for the SSD. Just need maybe a bit of changes on the squadrons, and get more B-Wings or other Bombers in.
Totally different to my list, that will be toast with the SSD, as long as the SSD is tuned for Anti Squadron (TIEs, with 3 hull, against 3-6 dice and auto accuracy? PFFFF 😁).
A little word about your last game, just because i knew this list so well 😉, and it is the only one i can say something about). I am surprissed that he gave you first player. I would have picked first against your list. And not tried to go for the Yavaris (unless there is a really good chance). But the danger is coming from the Squadrons, and he could take out at least 2 of yours each turn.
But it is hard to tell what some of the reasons or ideas might had been. Or what the intention for some actions were 😊
Same with the Raider. It might have been a bait that failed. Or just a risky move. But i was always moving this Raider as far away as possible. Just because this raider can be so fragile if anything is looking into his direction.
And do you still know what was different in his list, compared to mine? I only saw that he had only one Comms net. But i don't know what other changes he made.
Awesome write up!
You’ve set a bar I’m not gonna even pretend to reach with that. I’m so glad I got to play both you and @Snipafist. Both games were both fun and competitive. Rieekan rogues two games in a row was a serious challenge.
And you should absolutely give the Dumpster Fire a spin sometime. It’s a really fun fleet to fly.

It was a pleasure playing you as well! Wish I had comported myself a bit more competitively, but I made a few mistakes and I got greedy and that's the kind of stuff that gets you tabled, ha. Congrats again!

Let's talk about the big pile of Imperial officers from RitR and the SSD
" Fun fact about Moff Jerry: his effect wears off at the end of the ship's activation (see below), meaning the speed-1 yaw will remain buffed through Officer Ozzel's ship's first activation as well. "
This really blew my brain. The possibilities....

Officer the Senate with Overload Pulse is fun haven't decided how good it is but it is fun for sure.

I've generally found Overload Pulse as an element in a combo to always be unreliable, but I'd like to be surprised by it at some point. I just... I don't have the heart to believe in Overload Pulse for the 20th time, only to be let down like every other time.

I can totally relate. I did have success in a SSD list with Overload Pulse and Officer The Seanat I got a bit lucky and got it to trigger on all three attacks and 3 different ships, many tokens where lost that day my friend. I am still secptical about it, and I dont want to get overly excited but it was not half bad and I think I will be measing with it a little more.

Rebellion in the Rim red objectives are surprisingly legit. Corellian Conflict reds are largely a let-down but these have some promise overall.
Edited by SnipafistGreat summary as always! Also, for some reason reading these new RITR objectives is twisting my brain around more than previous objectives. Maybe I just have to play them to see how it works, but this article definitely fixed some confusion I already had. So a hearty thanks is in order.

You're welcome!
I also find most of the RitR objectives to be more complex on average than previous objectives (some exceptions, Fire Lanes and Sensor Net were always a little wordy, for example) so I'm helping myself by giving them another look-over, haha.

- There's no Purrgil rules telling us what to do about moving Purrgil under ships or squadrons (like there are with exogorths), so I assume that there's nothing stopping you from doing so and any ships or squads that have a space whale slid under them stay put.
Someone posted pictures of the RitR rulebook and there was a separate section on moving obstacles in general. I'm pretty sure it said that they can't overlap ships, squads, obstacles or tokens in their final position (but can move through them).
I really appreciate these objective articles by the way! The new objectives are probably the most exciting part of RitR for me but they've been kind of hard to wrap my head around, so that was a great read.

I know the page in question, but that rules snippet only applies when you're moving an obstacle toward something, which 2 of the 3 purrgil objectives do not do. I'd really appreciate an FAQ on this one because it's not clearly enough spelled out for me.
And you're welcome!
Hey remember back when I wrote that peripherals article and talked about how good the Broken Egg Games laser line pens were but it sucked because they never had them in stock?
Well they're in stock.

If I actually finish all the new stuff articles on my plate (so much stuff!) before @geek19 finishes his, I get to rub it in for forever.
