What to Take Against An SSD?

Fighters are good, he’s going to keep running over them, pop them on the nose and he’s never shaking them

Depends on the build. Annihilator + Kallus + QLTS + PDR can kill them quickly, and it's a thing.

If you want the Fighters to stay in bombing range against Jerjerrod, put them in the center of the side arc (not double-arced, obviously), not the nose. The SSD pivots quite a bit, and can easily dodge uncommanded squadrons and obstacles positioned right in front of it.

Yes but hopefully you should be exerted control of where he’s going to be putting his nose.

What about Leia MC30? 4 of them, max speed until they get to the back of the SSD. Then slow down and eat it inside out.

You’d probably be better off with Rieekan, Dodonna, Ackbar, Mothma or Madine.

You know, I just realized I wrote Leia instead of Mothma.

Well. Last night I faced my first SSD at 400 points. I brought Mon Karren, Aspiration, and Defiance with Raddus. I destroyed the SSD with my last activation on turn 3.

Like everything else, multiple hits really stresses defense token economy.

I'm curious to see this list.

It doesn’t feel or look like it should work but it keeps working.

Name: Why not rev2
Faction: Rebel
Commander: Admiral Raddus

Assault: Ion Storm
Defense: Asteroid Tactics
Navigation: Volatile Deposits

MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100)
• Sabine Wren (4)
• Ordnance Experts (4)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• External Racks (3)
• Assault Proton Torpedoes (5)
• Aspiration (3)
= 126 Points

MC80 Command Cruiser (106)
• Admiral Raddus (26)
• Ezra Bridger (3)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• Quad Battery Turrets (5)
• Defiance (5)
= 156 Points

MC80 Star Cruiser (96)
• Gunnery Team (7)
• Auxiliary Shields Team (3)
• Leading Shots (4)
• Mon Karren (8)
= 118 Points

Squadrons:
= 0 Points

Total Points: 400

Aux Shield Teams, Ezra, Sabine, and all objectives are new to rev2. I’m trying to work out a final upgrade suit for each ship.

I like the objectives. And yeah, I can see an SSD list having a hard time.

It was a close thing. Defiance died and Mon Karren had one hull left. Aspiration was in pretty good shape but would have ended up in a bad chase scenario had the game gone one more turn.

I tabled an SSD Rogue list with Ackbar on a pelta, and 4 nebs. Nasty double arcs, I made.

Countering a SSD is not particularly hard when you know you will fly against one.

I recommend just slightly tweaking one of your normal builds and seeing how it goes. Practice flying sub-optimal builds against it.

Plus your friend wants to try their SSD out. It won't be particularly fun for them if you bring a hard counter list, that would fail against most normal lists.
