Cardlist?

By Kalrhin, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

Do we know exactly how many cards will the core set include? The only explanation I found is "over 350" cards but not an exact quote.

I ask because there are 5 heroes, each having 15 cards. I also read somewhere that there are 44 neutral cards ... which gives roughly 220 villain cards? or am I missing something?

How long until we get the championsdb.com webpage on with all of the spoiled cards? :)

You've forgotten the aspect cards, there's 19 of each type.

Team Covenant have images of all the cards. They've done previews of the hero cards so far, and will hopefully do the aspect and basic cards soon.

Where?

They have a series of unboxing videos for this game on their youtube channel. I assume that's what is being referred to here. You can probably see the majority of the box contents in those videos and their two playthroughs.

Yeah, I was referencing their preview/unboxing videos. They’ve finished the series today, so now every player card has been previewed.

Not missing, duplicates. Evan mentioned in the first playthrough video that the Hero cards would be fixed and have duplicates:
*Spider-Woman (1)

Crisis Interdiction (2, 3 & 4)

Photonic Blast (5, 6, & 7)

Energy Absorption (8 & 9)

*Alpha Flight Station (10)

*Captain Marvel's Helmet (11)

Cosmic Flight (12 & 13)

Energy Channel (14 & 15)

Awesome.

From the card numbers given in the FFG article and the signature numbers on the cards, those are the numbers I've deduced:

  1. Spider-Man/Peter Parker
  2. Black Cat (1)
  3. Backflip (2-3)
  4. Enhanced Spider-Sense (4-5)
  5. Swinging Web Kick (6-8)
  6. Aunt May (9)
  7. Spider-Tracer (10-11)
  8. Web-Shooter (12-13)
  9. Webbed Up (14-15)
  10. Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers
  11. Spider-Woman (1)
  12. Crisis Interdiction (2-4)
  13. Photonic Blast (5-7/)
  14. Energy Absorption (8-9)
  15. Alpha Flight Station (10)
  16. Captain Marvel's Helmet (11)
  17. Cosmic Flight (12-13)
  18. Energy Channel (14-15)
  19. She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters
  20. Hellcat (1)
  21. Gamma Slam (2)
  22. Ground Stomp (3-4)
  23. Legal Practice (5-6)
  24. One-Two Punch (7-9)
  25. Split Personality (10)
  26. Superhuman Law Division (11)
  27. Focused Rage (12-13)
  28. Superhuman Strength (14-15)
  29. Iron Man/Tony Stark
  30. War Machine (1)
  31. Repulsor Blast (2-4)
  32. Supersonic Punch (5-6)
  33. Pepper Potts (7)
  34. Stark Tower (8)
  35. Arc Reactor (9)
  36. Mark V Armor (10)
  37. Mark V Helmet (11)
  38. Powered Gauntlets (12-13)
  39. Rocket Boots (14-15)
  40. Black Panther/T'Challa
  41. Shuri (1)
  42. Ancestral Knowledge (2)
  43. Wakanda Forever (3-7)
  44. Vibranium (8-10)
  45. The Golden City (11)
  46. Energy Daggers (12)
  47. Panther Claws (13)
  48. Tactical Genius (14)
  49. Vibranium Suit (15)

After that come the player cards, probably sorted by aspect (with Basic last), type (with events last) and name, then the villain cards, probably with the obligations and nemeses last.

I've been working on a spreadsheet from those Team Covenant Videos. The numbers aren't always clear, so the Nemesis cards in particular are not necessarily in the right order.

Here it is:

I'm pretty sure Wakanda Forever is a 5x: in the unboxing video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHUMnISNIHA ), they show 4 versions with different resource symbols. At 4:55, you see a version of Wakanda Forever with a physical resource and signature #5; at 4:59, you see a version with an energy resource and signature #3; at 5:04, you see a version with a mental resource and signature #4; and at 5:22, you see a version with a wild resource and signature #6.

Yeah, that adds up: 5 WF, 3 Vibranium, 1 of everything else.

Yeah. There are also a couple of typos: Focused Rage (only 1 S) in She-Hulk's signatures and Mark V Armor (no U) in Iron Man's.

Armor is how they spell Armour across the pond. Bugs me too, but it’s technically correct *shrugs*

Those aren't typos.

True, those are the titles as they appear in the unboxing videos rather than how they were written in the google sheet (the typos are "focussed" instead of "focused" and "armour" instead of "armor" - even though "armour" is a correct spelling, it's not the one used by the US-based FFG).

It's habit, particularly when I'm typing something up as I listen to people talking about it.

I notice that there's an odd gap between the end of the Nemeses and the Standard Villain card pack. I am going to guess that there might be an Advanced Villain card pack that can be subbed in if you want to make the game harder. Or possibly an Easy one.

By-the-by, the Nemeses card packs are organised alphabetically by the name of the Nemesis, not the Hero that they interact with, thus Killmonger, Titania, Vulture, Whiplash, Yon-Rogg. I have no idea why the heroes are presented in the order they are, though.

I also reckon there will be 16 different Ultron cards in his set, plus 5 different ones in the recommended side-scheme.

So, a villain deck is ~17 Signature cards, ~6 Side-scheme cards, ~7 'Core' cards and 1-4 Obligation cards = ~30-35. Which then gets sets of 5 added whenever a Nemesis turns up.

How big of a gap? I recall hearing that there’s going to be two additional modular encounter sets alongside the three that have a recommended scenario. Could that account for the gap?

It's a gap of 5 cards, so could very easily be that second modular encounter set.

We’ll know in due course. October needs to hurry up!

Kinda strange that Leadership got 1 less card than the other 3 aspects.
