Heavy Fire Zone

By eliteone, in Star Wars: Armada

"While attacking a squadron, before you gather dice , if defender is not engaged with a friendly squadron, you may replace all the blue anti squadron dice with red dice"

HOLY CRAP, since it'a before you gather dice, it essentially turns any medium range blue die anti squad into long range red die anti squad.

Dakka Dakka

Range is always nice, but red dice are kind of crap against squads...

Krysta Office looks like:

Red or Blue Crit: If...exhaust this card to [?] 1 of your [opponents?] defense tokens

You can resolve critical effects [?] SALVO attacks.

Yeah, prob only good for a round 1/2 squad ball, but I'd like to pair it with a Neb-B Escort with Draven along with Home One for an auto-acc on pesky Scatter Aces.

Or Imps with Kallus. Yikes. RIP Generic TIEs.

Good thing Kallus is only anti aces not generics ๐Ÿ™‚

And uniques, lol.

I think you still have to be at blue range though do you not? Sato lets you change dice color but you still have to be at appropriate range of what it was originally.

I don't think so, because the text says "Before you gather your dice" Sato lets you replace dice.

If the attacker is a ship, the defending squadron or hull
zone must be inside the attacking hull zoneโ€™s firing arc
and at attack range of the attacking hull zone.

What's attack range though?

Answered in Rules Discussion.

Essentially, you can't shortcut the attack Rules. At all.

The First step is declaring a Target. Then you gather dice at appropriate range to said target. Because, before you gather the dice, you change the colour from blue to Red, you find you are AT LONG RANGE and GATHERING RED DICE. Which is Legal. There is no stoppage.
