I'm pretty excited about the star hawk. I mainly play imperial but I will probably create a rebel list specifically for it
I'm very curious as to how salvo will work

I wonder how the starhawk will impact the isd. I don’t think the ssd will discourage isds from seeing the table due to its limitations. But if starhawks can out gun and out tank isds it could force imperial players to move away from isds and adopt strategies more rebel like with MSU. The problem I see there is the viability of imperial MSU. Thoughts?

You're... effectively... Solving the problem of Imperial MSU viabilty by providing a legitimate vector for its positive performance?

My first thought is the empire doesn't have cheap enough and consistent enough ships for MSU. I could maybe see Harrow + Demo + raiders/gozantis and a medium squadron investment maybe working. But that isn't really an MSU when half your points are in two ships. No I think that the Empire will need to reevaluate its squadron group strategy. With either bombing comming to the foreground or somehow getting a better general purpose group.
However if the Starhawk only has salvo tokens and is a command 4 ship, I really don't see the ISD becoming displaced from the current doctrine. Cymoons with H9s, QBCs and intel officers might become more common place though.

Points, points, points. The MC80L is what, like 40 or 50 points cheaper, isn't it? For two Starhawks, you could run three Liberties. Same with the ISD and VSD.

Also, Liberties can have Engine Techs and then you have a speed 4 large that can go places you wouldn’t expect a large to be. Vs the speed 2 Starhawk, which is a little more predictable and doesn’t have a support team slot. And people gripe about the speed 2 MC80 Home One, and that CAN take Engine techs.

Also, arcs. You can put gunnery team on a hawk, but I wouldn’t hold my breath for a double front arc shot at decent range with speed 2 and that narrow bow.
Probably only worth it in Ackbar or flak builds.

Why does it looked..... traced?

The Blue and Yellow are the colors of the new republic. The Star Hawk was built for the new republic not the rebel alliance. Slight difference but an explanation for the color difference.

Here's the official FFG artwork done by Darren Tan: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0q0aXTA7Ax/
Though Darren previously acknowledged that such things may happen when comics get done. Artist is in a rush, needs to deliver a lot of work quickly, and needs to draw some obscure ship that only showed up a few times before - that's when tracing happens. But he's not one to complain, he's just doing a really good job at providing wonderful artwork

Because that seems the in thing now for star wars comics.
Was a bunch of Mel's miniatures renders traced too, complete with mounting pegs

This has happened to fractalsponge too.
Traces of his renders have appeared in Star Wars books. Very nice drawings. Very detailed. 🙄

thanks for the info. Could have gone with less neon and more warm tones though. The artwork here looks good

It's crazy hey?
Comic book artists had one job and couldn't even remove the pegs while tracing lol
