I'm just glad we finally have a design for the starhawk

I wish they at least would have mentioned the clone wars factions.

so another wave another loss for rebel medium ships

The star hawk is exactly what I wanted from a non-moncal ship in Star Wars.

Ludacris.

It is great. Its just the right design of crazy stuff that doesnt make sense.

Now we wait for the news page to catch up

Dang, I missed it. I think both new ships look cool. Since one is a siege breaker and the starhawk looks to have a huge cannon on the bow, I wonder if that will be a new mechanic?

Anything non-Armada of note?

How about Linked Turbolaser Towers in AFIIs, especially with Ackbar (from the new campaign box coming in a matter of weeks)?

Well TLJ did give us a few - "Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster Ninka, Nebulon-C escort frigate Anodyne, and Vakbeor-class cargo frigate Vigil"

Pretty sure that's a hangar bay.

And nevermind Armada - Star Wars overall getting a short shrift. A bit of Legion and couple X-Wing ships (literally only 2 new ones and 1 re-release), and then...

Marvel. Marvel, Marvel, Marvel. Card games and miniature games and etc.

Darn. I had a forlorn hope that they would announce a Clone Wars version of Imperial Assault. I know Legion is getting all the ground mini love, but it doesn’t have a campaign mode.

Would the onager shot stack if it’s in the green zone? Would it me an every other rd type thing? ( recharge time)

What's a Star Hawk?

The Marvel Universe miniatures game, I feel, will be Armada's Debbie Downer's next standard line like "well, the new ships are delayed/there's no news/we're still waiting/Armada's dead..., but FFG is really busy working frantically on all the expansions of Marvel Crisis Protocol.

😉

Primary capital ship of the New Republic. Three of them supposedly an equal fight against a production-version Super Star Destroyer. Shows up several times in novels set between the original trilogy and sequel trilogy. Starkiller Base's shot against all the Republic capital systems in TFA supposedly destroyed them all, though.

Were they in any of the movies? What are they from?

No, the Starhawk was brand new for *Aftermath* and The Battle of Jakku... So, I mean, technically, some of the wreckage seen in Episode VII might have been a Starhawk at some point :) Its important to note, that THIS IS THE FIRST TIME ITS BEEN DEPICTED IN IMAGE.

Its only ever been described, never SHOWN.

The Onager is from the Rebel Files, and is rumoured to be in Episode IX

Salvaged imperial ships, fitted together to build something that wasnt entirely imperial so that the New Republic wasnt scaring planets by showing up to liberate them in ISDs.

No. They're from the Aftermath trilogy .

This is the first time we've seen an "official/canon" image of one. They're built out of scrapped Star Destroyer parts, designed specifically as warships to take on the Empire (unlike the Mon Cala cruisers). One of them was destroyed at the Battle of Jakku bringing down the Super Star Destroyer (the one Rey flies through in TFA) using its over-powered tractor beams.

Not yet, just the novelizations of them and canon novels set between the periods. It's possible Disney let FFG come up with this design working with their story group (like how FFG was able to create the now-canon Raider).

They also might just be privy to a design that is appearing in Episode IX for the first time on-screen.

But, yeah, to this point there was no public information on what they looked like at all. The novelizations only generalized them as very large, three of them equal to a Super Star Destroyer, and with a 'hatchet shape'. That's it. (EDIT: oh, yeah, and as @Grumbleduke noted - built as part of the decommissioning process of the Imperial Fleet, from Star Destroyer components)

They were introduced in the aftermath trilogy. This minature was the first on screen aperance. all we knew from the books was they were shaped like a hatchet.

The interesting thing is they were made from the components of disasembled star destroyters.

And to clarify, 3 do not solo an SSD, they engage it alongside the whole rebel fleet, 2 are destroyed and the last one get the kill

You know, we, the members of the Public, may often be down on just how Popular Armada is compared to other games.

But you know... Here's what I feel is a little bit of proof that Disney and Lucasfilm appreciate what FFG goes with Armada.

They Let Them Design the LOOK of the StarHawk*, which had never before been depicted in an Image. It had only ever been described.

* Maybe. They may just be the people who get to show it first. Which is still a big deal with the in-the-know fans.

Oh, also there's a reference to Starhawks in the novelisation of The Last Jedi. So there may still be some around in that period.

Which might mean they're turning up in Rise of Skywalker (along with the Onager-class)... Maybe FFG didn't get to design them?

Three of the titles for the Starhawk are likely to be Amity, Concord and Unity if we go by the Aftermath novels.

MAYBE they did. But I kinda doubt it. Consider when FFG released the Raider, they trumpeted loud and wide how much of a privilege it was to work with the Lucasfilm story group, and be able to contribute something new/original to the Star Wars setting, etc.

Nothing like that mentioned this time at all, just the reference to them being in the 'Aftermath' novel.

Methinks one shows up in either the Resistance TV series and/or Episode IX, and FFG just got to be the first to reveal it.

(Honestly, it looks to me quite a lot like the type of designs that the Resistance TV series has been creating, so my money is on that as the source of it)

They're still the first to *show it off*

Even if that's the limit to the example... That's still a big deal, as the "interesting public" will still credit them with the Design - because they were the first.
