Seeing the sprues in the unboxing video....

It looks really cool but I'm in it for playing the game, not the hobby aspect. After seeing all the sprues and all the droid parts, Clone Wars is gonna be a hard pass for me, which makes me really sad because I love the Clone Wars. I just don't have the time or the energy for the work that comes with sprues. The ease of building the miniatures is what drew me to Legion in the first place, the awesome gameplay is why I stick around. I absolutely love the game, it's my favorite and I play at least twice a week.

However, sprues will end up killing it for me, at least in regards to purchasing new units. It seems like everyone is crazy stoked for the move to sprues. Am I the only person that's feeling super overwhelmed by the shift to sprues?

Offer someone at your club a couple or more boxes of models if they'll assemble your's for you. That's fairly commonly done from what I hear.

If we had painted minis like xwing I'd get the hate.

I won't crucify someone for it, but missing parts and extra labor/processing for ffg to clip/pack is a real thing... not to mention the umpteen threads that have turned up about missing plastic that they don't have to deal with means more resources for making new minis

I think the only real ‘lol wut?’ Design choice on the frames is the decision to make the battledroid heads two pieces it looks like. Otherwise, the models seem rather reasonable to assemble.

i say this knowing full well other manufacturers could and have modeled pieces like this in a similar scale in 1 piece.

The problem are those two parts at the back. They would create an undercut in the mould.

One of the games I play has 15mm scale tanks. The company, not nearly as big as FFG, is able to get molded track patterns on the tank tracks; also seen similar structures made in less pieces by GW.

So I think this is more lack of experience than anything

Who wouldn’t accept $50 of lucre for an hour of labor? 😳
