Your comment lacks context, with the surge to crit it's like firing with a z6 only the faces of the dice are crit /crit / hit / 5 blanks for 2 of it's dice pool instead of crit/hit 6 blanks.

It has a higher DMG output of a z6 unit with better results vs armour,, so it straddles the line of a z6 and an ion weapon without the exhaust (but also without the Ion), so you have to trade off against the following. Is it worth 19 points for a unit that is better against armor, slightly better against troopers , lacks nimble, but can start the turn with a dodge and can dish out an order to a nearby emplacement.

it's that latter part that is important. On their own I don't think they are that much better than a Z6 unit that it's worth paying 19 points more, but it is quite telling that the price of the rebel veterans and the mk2 medium blaster emplacment is very close (it's actually a couple of points cheaper) than 2 z6 units.

So dropping 2 z6s nets you another unit that's got the same dmg output of a naked rebel trooper squad which gets an order at the same time as it's parent unit and has fire support. I've played with a double unit team and using no time for sorrows was able to get the mk2 about 10-11 inches out of my deployment zone (using recon on the Veterans) to set up a turn 1 fire support shot on Bossk using a dice pool of BBBBBBBBWWWW with surge to crit 4 times and surge to hit outside that. That shot has a reasonable chance of wiping him off the board with an aim. that being said without the emplacement I'm not sure I'd take them over a Z6.
