Because Gas Clouds are now a thing, and giving your opponent Autothrusters just to use your pilot ability is kinda rough on poor Han. And if you're not using that ability, it's a lot of points to spend on a 2-dice, single-mod gun.

Beckett is there to help move your rocks to counter swarm placement and Gas Clouds.

Still seems a really meaty list. I can't believe just how cheap Boba is... I hate that guy.

Because 3 of your 4 ships have a printed 2 dice primary. It can't keep up with strong 4-5 ship lists, and it can't match the consistent offensive mods of Jedi.

On the turns Han is just 2-3 dice with a focus, he just doesn't do the damage you need out of 1/3rd of your list. Autopilot and Seevor certainly aren't going to outmaneuver a Jedi. Boba vs an entire list isn't a great matchup.

I have a hard time running Scum Han without Hotshot Gunner anymore. Makes his 2 dice gun worthwhile when you don't get to go to magic-trickshot-land.

Gas clouds give a green die and guarantee them blank->evade, but it also gives you two extra dice. It only helps them if they roll blank dice (which for the ubiquitous low-agility ships doesn't always happen) and if you're focused the odds are it still gives you .5 damage if they do get a full extra evade from it. Not to mention you benefit from the obstruction as well, which often goes overlooked. Trading shots through gas clouds sounds like a great time for Trick Han.

To look at it differently: Would you rather roll 2 dice against 1 green die, or 4 dice against 2 guaranteed evades? Now suppose the second scenario also gave you two guaranteed evades?

EDIT: I just ran the odds and the first gives you 0.91 hits vs the second's 1.18 and a much higher crit ratio, and that's assuming both ships are focused at R2. So it would be better even if it didn't give you a defensive boost as well.

And if the gas cloud is locked, it doesn't do anything but help you twice-over.

I'm not saying Han should take gas clouds; debris is so much better. I'm just saying that gas clouds really don't hurt his ability.

Yeah Quira is on there so Gas Clouds isn’t a good reason why the list isn’t being played.

You probably want more than a 1 point bid for a Slave I Boba, right? There's a big difference between arc dodging the I4s naturally, and the I5s that could have simultaneous-fired you if you hadn't outbid them and changed direction.

Right. It's not enough to beat the people chasing serious bids, but those are unreasonable in the first place. 3 points should beat or tie most bids.
