As I said before, while I do expect that, it should be remembered that TCW core was announced before Dewbacks and Shores, it could release first. We'll see how things shake out. I think for balance reason, FFG really needs to stop releasing factions on opposite months. This month should have been the corps or creature troopers for both sides, and the next GCW release the other set, rather than one faction picking up two units, the others none.

CW is not a faction tied to the GCW, so I don’t think it will have a staggered release with Rebels or Imps. The CW stuff also needs to catch up and I’m certain there will be GCW era stuff released quarterly while CW has its monthly release and that will all be done concurrently or the CW will have too much of a moving target to catch up to. So even if Imp and Saddle is released in August, I don’t think it precludes an August release for CW.

They’ve said on multiple occasions that releases will be 80% TCW and 20% GCW (or a variation of that). We’ll get our early release this week, Shores and Dews at the end of August, Clone wars in Sept

I’m not disputing percentages, but I am saying no one has said the new faction would be staggered with the old factions, you guys are making an assumption.

If FF staggers, the CW yearly one-a-month release will increase in length and take that much longer for it to catch up to the original 2 factions, so I don’t see why they would stagger the release.

Fans are a living contradiction. They critic the thing they love most.

I recall waiting years for a company across the pond to update models and release some decent rules on armis that were in dire ened of attention.

Im impressed at the roll out of items from FFG, not to mention the quality. the special releases at conventions..well, thats what makes 'em special. Ya go and you come home with a trophy. I wanted a Vader from thr Celebration but it ddint happen. Ill just have to like the others that much more.

It just wouldn’t make sense to do that. They have a hard enough time releasing the product they already make - near doubling that doesn’t seem like the logical next step. It’s much more likely they don’t mind that the CW armies are a little behind for awhile and just ramp up the release rate of TCW products ca GCW.

I’m sure they will release as fast as they can keep up. I don’t mind having a slower release rate so I can get caught up or maybe consider a new army along the way.

just to point out that the Shore Trooper/Dewback article hasn't dropped yet, but both of the Clone Wars core set ones have.

Likely because the clone wars has been unboxed in video, albeit in Deutsche, so all the info is out, where I haven't yet seen anything for Dewbacks or Shoreleave troopers.

Yeah, i was making more of an observation than am argument. I think the "late 3rd quarter" thing puts it firmly in September.

I will say this though the Shore troopers and Dewback will be spoiled soon enough because they are also getting an early release at Gencon.

The video mentions "third quarter" and "October", but the word choice for the latter could mean either an educated guess of his or him quoting a reliable source (someone of Asmodee Germany) or him quoting a reliable source's educated guess. Not enough context to know how he meant it, so...

GAR and CIS aren’t released yet, but it does lead to some probable tilt to switch sides if you allow the use of one half of a paired release but not the other.

Maybe you don’t mind, maybe you do, but either way the decision impacts the makeup of the lists presented at the lower levels and, therefore, the probable makeup of the ultimately winning list.

I was just thinking (I know dangerous), but if the schedule looks something like:

AUG Imp & Saddle

SEP CW Core

OCT Luke & Vader operatives

NOV Bunker

DEC Escape Pod

On top of all this they did mention that the original two factions had more coming for this year, so I’m thinking the CW Core set will be releasing with a GCW unit concurrently. You’re probably right about the rest though. Next year they will probably stagger releases, but I think that Core is coming in August.

CW Core should also be the standalone Corps and Support boxes for those two factions.

I don’t suppose anybody has been able to get the fine details of the Shoretrooper detachment? I’m particularly interested in their cost and attacks.

I saw a picture online, but it unfortunately cut off the actual cost. But the mortar team is 3 Wounds, 2 Courage, Red Defense, No Surge, Speed 1. They have Unarmed and the E-22 rifle, and the DF-98 Mortar which is range 3-4 and 3 White with Critical 1, Cumbersome, Suppressive and Fixed: Front. Keywords are Detachment, Fire Support, Full Pivot, Reposition, Sentinel.

part of me thinks the CW core is reversed with the dewbacks and shores release because we have the full articles out, but then again those articles could just have been for GenCon

Did you get a CW box though?

I got a core set on the first day. They mentioned they were trying to get more to the con and they were in the FFG warehouse in the states. Whereas the Armada release was still in China and they would not have any more of those.

What are the other two weapons upgrades for the Dewback? As far as I know the only details we have are for the T-21.

Flamer and RT7C. Pretty sure Table Top Admiral has em up if you want to check them out.

Was nice to see FFG added two complete torsos to allow the model to appear different for the type of weapons used. THANKS FFG!

You techo-droids will want to use magnets to be able to swap out the torsos and arms/ weapons do give your rider a range of choices.

If you don't wish to use one of the torsos I am sure some of you sneaky wamp-rats will convert yourself a new Storm Trooper unit leader!
