Probably means that Tauntaun Riders and Rebel Vets are coming out on Thursday so they’ll be a normal item, not a presale

Maybe, but they also call out SSD which is releasing the same day.

That’s true. But if they aren’t coming out Thursday (Aug 1) then they would be a presale item like dewbacks and shoretroopers...

The tauntauns and Vets will be there too, just not as a presale. And those of us not at the convention can pick them up at local game store this week.

I wonder if these presales will be at PAX west, asuming clone wars isn't released late August

man i hate to say this but **** FFG.
i keep hearing that they are "trying" to quite this early release at cons. and they turn around and release not only dewbacks and shore troopers but also clone wars. which won't be out till september at best for everyone who can't get tickets or doesn't feel like paying the scaplers fee that will come from other people going.
just me ranting but this is FFG and asmodee smacking their fans in the face and punishing them for not dropping alot of money to go to the events.
**** they didn't even give the world champion this year this ability to buy it early.

I feel your pain. I live in Canada, so there isn't much of a recourse for me. At the same time, FFG is First and foremost a business designed to make money, and not bringing new product is a mistake. What they sell likely pays for the hall rental and space for their hyperspace reports and booth.

selling something that is release that week or the day gen con starts is different then selling something that is months from release. its how we got the celebration vader price gouge in the first place.

The price gouge for Vader is more due to the limited edition nature of the product

Not particularly. You can just be patient like the rest of us who aren’t getting early gencon purchases.

Celebration Vader was because it was a finite supply only available there. Anyone overpaying for early con goodies that will be released soon is doing it to themselves.

Yeah, I've been feeling this hard for the past year.

For Legion things aren't so bad. It seems like there's something new for Legion every month. I haven't even been able to use all the new units I've bought. So I don't mind waiting. (though I have a friend going so I could ask them).

For me, I've had a slow growing but constant hatred over their handling of Armada. It was bad enough when we got bumped to back burner because of X-wing 2.0 and Legion, having no releases for over a year. Having the SSD bumped 6-8 months back sucked too. It was their handling of Armada reprints, however, (which caused essential expansions that MSRP at $20 to hit ebay at $80-$120 for nearly 6 months) that caused me so much annoyance. We've had a lot of growth in our Armada group over the last year, if FFG's neglect just effected the existing players it wouldn't be so bad, but it really screwed all the newbies over.

I've been pretty livid with their policy decisions.

Also, I'd be careful how far you go expressing this sentiment. I've gotten a number of warning points for being too " colorful " in my opinion of FFG right now.

I can’t make it to GenCon this year, but I’m excited to find out more about the presage products! In particular I’m hoping somebody will give the details on how the Shoretrooper’s emplacement trooper works.

We don't know the exact stats of the weapon yet. Works the same way as the Rebel one, you can take it as a corp choice if you include a unit of shores in your army. 1 shore = 1 emplacement. Check out the RRG for more "Detachment" rules.

most of it was leaked out as it was said to have the same stats as the at-st weapon so 3 white range 1-4 suppressive cost about 36 points off the top of my head and has the same ability as the rebel vets emplacement and rules (its a corps unit).

This is just what Gencon and cons in general are. Most of the big shops have swag you can't get anywhere else or release stuff early there.

Both saddened and relieved there is no exclusive resin like at celebration.
