Diamond Barrage Idea

I'm thinking this could be a pretty gnarly joust list with plenty of rerolls and I could afford to be a little aggressive with the space cow with it using the title, to get a lock, get a focus and if someone shoots it, get a reinforce. If my opponent goes after Jonus he has an Elusive reroll to hopefully have a focus from Sai, and the lock so the Diamond missiles connect and I can get a follow up tap from the two Gammas.

I really don't think that loading down Sai will help as much as you hope it will. The Autoblasters are super unlikely to ever be better than your primary. I tend to think that in a jousty list like this, the shuttle won't be the first target, so Tua is unlikely to do much for you while it matters. (Not to mention that stressing yourself with a shuttle dial is just masochistic.) I'm also unsure about spending four points (essentially)for Marksmanship is a great idea. Marksmanship is nice when it happens, but it's really hard to bullseye things at the ranges you want to fight. If you're bumping up initiative as a meta play and Marksmanship is just something to do while you're there, sure, but going to the elites to get Marksmanship doesn't seem great to me.

With this kind of loadout, though, I'm unsure where we can shift points to improve the squad. Even if we strip upgrades down to the minimum, we have enough points only for, like, Night Beast, which is hardly inspiring. I don't know, I think building a list around an I4 missile shot for a ship that has to get its own lock is troublesome. I'd recommend swapping to Jendon to simplify that-- which, in turn, means you can reconsider your bomber pilots and loadouts.

The above list is 2-0 but I'm finding other than helping keep locks, it makes Jonus's ability feel a bit superfluous. And against a trip hyena-vulture swarm it was an uphill fight.

Yes, when I mentioned Jendon as an alternative I pointed out that would allow for changing which pilots you'd take.

You can do a swarm tactics alpha with tomax, x2 gammas, and jendon. Then all four fire at initiative 5. Maybe fit rhymer in there with adv proton torps
