Family Mons

By Scrivener Spills, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Roleplaying Game

Is it just me, or is there not really any artwork or descriptions of family mons in the current edition?

There really isn't. They crop up in a couple of the art pieces from the LCG, and may get described in one of the supplements, but there is no physical artwork to accompany them.

So I highly suggest using the Mon created by Rhiannon McCullough. You can find them here: https://www.deviantart.com/doppelgangergeisha/gallery/55456329/legend-of-the-five-rings

They are based on traditional Japanese mon, using the descriptions provided from previous editions.

OOOOO, those are NICE. I like that most of the unicorn are angular hexagons instead of circles, as well. interesting design choice. Thanks!

The Unicorn not being round is something that came up in the old game as well. I think they were octagonal.

I have a file with all the collected mons from the 1 to 4th editions somewhere.

This is the most definitive list I have seen from Old5R

If anyone needs a version with transparancy for the white part, let me know. I made them to put tags over the portraits for my campaign wiki, such as: https://tomesoflegend.org/lo5r/index.php/Naoko

I love the psudo-wood block art. Major props as that is a true skill not being taught much less appreciated today.
