You guys think that hotshot blaster will ever make its way in to 2.0?

I wouldn't hold my breath but I wouldn't be opposed to it either. Only illicit I really really really want is glitterstim.

I doubt we will ever see that due to the fact it is a First Order pilot ability

Full 1e Glitterstim would be way too strong in 2e, where there's far less passive dice modification. Just playing today, my opponent say "It's interesting how much more blocking seems to matter" and I agree. So much of the passive modification is gone (not all... the Force is strong), and that overall feels like a good thing to me. 1e style Glitterstim would be massively powerful, probably need to be really expensive, and I just don't think it'd be a good idea.
Anyhow, if I wanted to keep some of the spirit of Glitterstim while reducing the power level to something fitting, I'd go in one of two directions:
- Essentially, a one-time-use, stressful, Force charge. This could probably be cheap, but would only ever modify a single die result. "When you defend or perform an attack, you may spend 1 charge and gain 1 stress to change 1 [eye] result to a [hit] or [evade]."
- Make it an action to activate. Doesn't seem that strange, in terms of fluff. The time to take a hit seems like something which could justly require an action. Something like "Action: Spend 1 charge and gain (1?) (2?) stress. Until the end of the round, when you defend or perform an attack, you may change (1?) (all?) [eye] results to [hit] or [evade] results.
Either way, I'd certainly make it require a Focus action on the ship. Droids doing drugs didn't really make much sense in 1e, and preventing someone with Calculate but not Focus from taking Glitterstim would feel thematic.

"At the beginning of the engagement phase, you may spend [charge] and receive 1 stress token. Whilst attacking or defending, if you are focused, you may change any number of [focus] to [evade] or [hit]".
Essentially, avoid the cross-over with Contraband Cybernetics (which let you do actions when stressed) - Glitterstim won't make you focused if you weren't, so it's strictly inferior to Malarus' unique ability - but if you have a focus token it's the same net effect because you don't have to spend it to get full effect.
