Bounty Hunter Bros

By Argonoch, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Really love flying Boba but been difficult to find a good wingmate, I think Ive been having success with IG so let me know what you guys think.

Havent had much varied practice, mostly against my friend who flies republic. Hes beaten me pretty much every game cause I just cant pin Anakin down (any tips on how to counter him?) Though most of the games we play to the death rather than to time.

(85) Boba Fett [Firespray-class Patrol Craft]
(2) Slave I
(3) IG-88D
(7) Juke
(6) Shield Upgrade
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
(6) Proximity Mines
Points: 112

(65) IG-88C [Aggressor Assault Fighter]
(1) IG-2000
(10) Advanced Sensors
(7) Juke
(3) Contraband Cybernetics
Points: 86

Total points: 198

I think two ships have a really hard time. Unless there is an abomination like handbrake Han involved, but Boba is not such a kind of a ship.

For my taste, the investment in upgrade cards is to high.

I don't know if you own the ship, but if I would go Boba + IG, it would look something like this

Boba Fett (85)
Ion Cannon (5)
IG-88D (3)
Slave I (2)

IG-88B (64)
Ion Cannon (5)
Jamming Beam (0)
IG-2000 (1)

Lando Calrissian (29)
Tactical Officer (6)
Total: 200

Since I am not sure about the juke investment and I definitely don't want to boost every round, I went for Ig-88B instead. The ion cannon is a nice control factor and constant pounding on a target will push damage through eventually. Jamming beam because it's free.

Lando is same initiative like ig, so he can work like advanced sensors for both ships. His pilot ability itself is also very useful.

Okay cool. Yeah I'll give it a try

Well. I like the IGs. Would love to work one in with Boba. But I don't yet own one and don't really know what I'd do with it.

However, we've run a pretty simple Boba/Emon list this week. Bit variance prone against aces but it's solid and does kinda seem to just demolish stuff.

Basically, PerCo, Proxies, Titles on both, with added Seismic for Emon at 196, or Probombs at 198. Slave 1 goes where it wants and shoots all the time. Emon bombs where he wants and shoots all the time. They're just a heavyweight tag team. Great dial, 3 die rear and boost do a lot for cycling in and out. PerCo is just enormous value.

Yeah was thinking of maybe trying Two firesprays. I think the biggest problem I definitely have at the moment is against PS 6 Aces. It usually comes down to Boba against a PS 6 ace (played the ion cannon list and Soontir killed him) and the ace always manages to just about dodge him. Maybe I should just fly fast away, but then I never manage to get any hits in đŸ¤”

I just wish Scum had some better PS 6 pilots. The only decent one is Fenn but unlike every other faction Ace he cant Barrel Roll and Boost. If only Guri was 6 đŸ˜

Double repo, I6 aces are the bane of many lists. Needing your own I6 to beat them is a bit of rabbit hole. There's an art to it with lower Init that is not easy to master.

Basically, keep a complete arc coverage so they have nowhere to hide, approach slowly so you don't let them shoot past. Or force them to approach you from a direction you can saturate. Keep shooting at them till their mods fail, obviously easier if you have more total health than them. R1 is not where you aim for, they will dodge that. Aim for R2/3 weight of fire. If you end up too close, look for blocks, judge their landing zones and put yourself in them.

Above all, they're your priority, target them as soon as possible but be aware they're probably just teasing at that point. Which is fine, scare them off, deal (or pretend to deal), with something else and box the ace when he returns. If you can put yourself up on points by taking something else out while he scarpers, then the ball is in your court, the ace has to engage, make it difficult for him to do so without getting shot at.

So it's not easy but the twin Spray list we used has the tools. The bombs alter the field massively, removing or creating obstacles and threatening auto hits. Then the double firing arcs combined with boost and a fine dial mean your arc coverage can be almost complete, if you're at different angles, in different positions.

They're not a counter to I6 aces by any means, but they can handle it as well as anything can.

I recentely came up with a very similar list.

Escape Craft - •Outer Rim Pioneer - 34
•Outer Rim Pioneer - Skillful Outlaw (28)
Tactical Officer (6)

Aggressor Assault Fighter - •IG-88B - 68
•IG-88B - Brutal Battledroid (64)
Marksmanship (1)
Autoblasters (2)
IG-2000 (1)

Firespray -class Patrol Craft - •Boba Fett - 98
•Boba Fett - Notorious Bounty Hunter (85)
Marksmanship (1)
Autoblasters (2)
•IG-88D (3)
• Marauder (6)
•Greedo (1)

Total: 200/200

Basically between Marksmanship, Greedo and Autoblasters the idea is to just bypass the opponentes defensive roll.

Tested it in Fly Casual, seemded to have potential, but no real world game yet to report.

IGB with Fearless, title, and Autoblasters, Boba with Fearless, title, IGD, and Autoblasters, and Escape Craft Lando with TacOff. Lots of ability to push damage, "AdSen" from the shuttle, very respectable mods
