And here is your New TIE

Hmm naw. It's refire time is actually really fast, I'd rather lean into the fact it's a capital class weapon. It's also notably range restricted.
•Composite Laser Cannon double-slot Cannon:
7 dice bullseye, R2
Attack (focus): the defender doubles his defense pool.
10+points
Murders big ships, so-so otherwise.

Refire time is fast- ish yes, but it also means your opponent only has to dodge

a) a R2-3 bullseye

b) on the locked ship

c) once every three rounds

d) or they don't get the shot at all and have to wait another 3 rounds before even attempting it. They don't get to save it for later.

In epic you just focus-fire the ship down; it's easy enough. In 200-pt you just dodge it, and even then you only have to worry about it once every three rounds, and the poor thing is ionized for one of them so it only really has two to line up that second shot.

If you think it's still too strong, you could make it R3 only, give it 4 charges, and/or make it Attack [Lock, Focus]. It would basically be utter trash at that point.

The problem with doubling defense is it makes it way too strong against capital ships (or ghosts/decis for that matter) and way too easy to get off. It becomes overly matchup- and variance-dependent instead of skill-dependent. I much prefer things that are hard to land than things that are unlikely to land. It makes the game more about skill than variance.

That's kind of the point. It must absolutely break the capital ship vs fighter matchup, be removed after one episode and never spoken of again.

  1. So, what's that Lego set actually called?
  2. What. The. Heck. is up with the dude in black and the darksaber?
  3. If we don't all agree to call it the TIE-rangle, I'm going to cry.

I'm going to go out on a limb at say the dude in black with the sword is one of the Knights of Ren, most likely Barry.

You saw one? I don't recall seeing any.

I saw several. I mentioned them after the movie and described them and my wife was like, "what, you could make out shapes during those scenes?"

They were, unless I'm mistaken, the ONLY Ties in the final battle. Any time you see someone being shot down, it's one of these doing it.

There were a bazillion of them in the final battle!

I never even noticed they weren't regular Ties.

My eyesight is insanely keen. When I was a kid I would freak the eye doctor out by reading the name of the eye test manufacture which was not part of the actual test.

My hearing on the other hand, WOOF! Well that’s what they close captioning for.

Now you kids get off my lawn!!

I was hoping these TIEs would DO something unique in the movie than just be more target practice.

Interestingly this is similar to opinions I've seen about the Resistance B-Wing.

I don't think I saw it shoot the entire movie. Very thematic.

That aged pretty well.

Counterpoint, my eyesight is kind of terrible. I've had eye surgery but still have an astigmatism that I haven't been able to get surgery for yet. I think expecting them to be there certainly helped.

@CaptainJaguarShark yet your Avatar though.

I didn't even notice they were Tie Daggers in the movie. Then I read they were in the movie. Saw it a second time and then saw that all the ties were TIE Daggers, lol. The space battle is just horribly shot and edited that you never really get a good look at them. When they are flying away, or coming at the screen, you cant tell, and slight angles you can only tell if you know they are there, and there are practically no side profile shots.

I only ever noticed them in really far shots where they were practically microscopic, and I probably wouldn't have even noticed those if I didn't know to look for them. As it was, I was trying to see what I could make out of the big fleet that may not have been in the existing shots. Outside of the trailer shot, the only ship that I could focus on long enough to identify was a fang fighter (which I think might have already been in the trailer shot anyway).
