Hey, all new to forums here so hoping I can get my questions answered

Is there a stated time it takes for luminen charge to take effect, e.g. to charge a laspack is the effect instantenous or does it take time?

The problem is I can't really see anything in the rulebook and it comes up a lot in games and i'm not sure if it's just supposed to be GM fiat.

Anyhoo, I'm waiting to hear all your opinions!

There is no fixed time stated so it does take some GM Fiat. I went with the reasoning that the more "juice" the device needs the longer the recharging takes. I based the time taken on the Test difficulty ( starting from Ordinary ):up to 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5, 10 and 20 minutes.

Ah, thats actually not that bad an idea!
It came up in last weeks game where I had to power a lift and we weren't sure how long I would be able to power the thing for before I needed to make another test. Was tense we were halfway down and I was worried I would lose power and us all to our unfortunate doom!

I would let extra successes make it need less time / last longer and maybe do something like 10 minutes to charge -1min/extra success for a standard charge pack and double the time for an overcharged pack
