What is best is, print them in the product, amend them online for those that keep up with the latest and greatest. The product should work when you buy it. And it should work after the website goes dark someday. The rulebook in the core being useless without the RRG is enough of a PITA as it is. Not everyone lives in tech bubbles.
I am mixed on this, no one thing is perfect. I see how well it has worked in X-Wing 2.0. Imagine Vader being played because they realized he is too expensive and dropped his cost 10, 20, 50 and now he is the meta and they can raise him to a happy medium. It is also a pain in the butt to load an app to see what upgrade they have and how much it cost - or have a list and now you have to change it because everything has rebalanced.

I am also very glad that this means FFG isn't opposed to costume changes for heroes. Though Vader sans saber is the only real "costume change" he can have.
Vader walks in with a cute bracelet on.
Tarkin, "Vader, what is that thing?"
Vader, "Thought I'd spruce it up a bit. What do you think?"
Tarken, "It matches your saber."

He was taking about, like, a pretty necklace. Or a nice hat. You know. Something that makes the other Sith Lords go "Ooh, that's nice".

He should've talked to Lando while at Bespin and upped his cape game
Stealthy Vader:

I think they should print it with a picture of the Vader Operative box on it instead....

That is great for client choice, but are LFGS going to want to keep both GCW and CW starter box in stock in perpetuity? They both run under the same rule set and simply have different factions inside, and all but the commander models were already available in unit box form. Now that it isn’t even true as we have alternates for the GCW commanders (Ltd Ed fiasco Vader not withstanding), and the dedicated commander cards are simply a click away.
Keep in mind, the last thing a store owner or a distributor or, FFG themselves even, want is ‘dead’ stock. Warehousing cost money. So if the original GCW starter box is discontinued in 2020 Q1 I can’t say i’d be shocked. It’d be a prudent business decision.
Not that far fetched really (GW is a prime example of that strategy) but still just casual conjecture by now atm.
An App for Legion could be the best way to go. Giving access to developers to fix old cards. Just print them with the abilities, keep upgrades and point cost in .pdf or App.
Edited by HijodecainAn app can have lots of advantages. Including an offline mode where I can build lists even if my store has terrible phone service indoors.

You wont get that from FFG *cough*x-wing app*cough*

Most will keep it in stock, or order it in if it sells. If it doesn't, they wont order it. FFG didn't stop selling the original x-wing starter when the force awakens set came out.
Along with Hope in Luke's box, I'd expect to see Force Guidance in each box along with some surge tokens for those not taking the immediate plunge into Clone Wars.
And a few Operative Command cards set in RotJ timeframe. Like Luke's "I sense there's still good in you". Immediately move Luke into base contact with Vader. Luke cannot use attack actions as he tries to talk it out.
I think these will release in wave 2 of clone wars content. Maybe October or November
Edited by TirionYeah, I see these hitting the streets after Clone Wars, partially as a way to provide Empire and Rebel players with the new Force cards.
"I am a Jedi", I was close. 🤣
Vader with Infiltrate.

Soo.. seems I was right about the Jedi Hunter on Vader and the using the command cards from either the Commander or Operative.

Yes, but now you can run Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie!

Yup, and that is, in my opinion, one of the best reasons for this.

You know, there were a few things from rogue one that annoyed me, but I did love the way they did this.
I was afraid they'd go all prequel and Yoda and have vader flipping around, twirling his lightsaber to no purpose and stuff, going all emo or something like they did with Anakin and kylo. Nope, just... Youre all going to calmly be killed by the no nonsense Sith lord he is at this point.
I really enjoyed this too. Even if the age of the original Obi v. Vader duel shows, it also makes it look like Vader just toyed with Obi in episode IV, knowing good and well he could defeat him at any time. (half robot kept up to date versus old man).
Thats a great scene.
I belvie these fans continued the feel
haha, thats pretty awesome!
