Realistic ISD Battlegroup

This 500 point build attempts to represent what an actual ISD Battlegroup would look like. You get the ISD, her support carrier and screening escort along with proper fighter compliment. I'm not really concerned with tournament competitiveness, this is themed.

I've been thinking about thematic fleet, and yours looks good on ship side, but i'd change the squadron contingency.

By the lore, a default ISD carries 6 squadron or TIEs, 4 normal (or interceptor) 1 bomber and 1 scout squadron. The scout can be a Drfender or decimator, or a lambda, as Armada doesn't have it.

You could extrapolate that to the quasar :)

So maybe 6 fighters for the ISD and 10 for the quasar.

Was gonna say thematically the Defender was an expensive prototype, could drop it to 1 and steele (or just 2 generics), get a gozanti in their and maybe 3 generic Bombers? Take a Decimator our for a lambda shuttle as well maybe. Just my thoughts.

I'd do a one or two Arquitens over raiders. While the raider makes a nice anti-fighter escort that's really the role of Ties within a fleet with both a ISD and a Carrier. Typically the Raider isn't really found in fleets, in the lore laid out for it by FFG and Battlefront 2 (the story was... okay) the raider is more of a patrol and special forces ship. The Arquitens is going to support a ISD better when fighting other capital ships while the fighters cover the anti fighter role.

Fill the rest with Tie fighters, Interceptors and Bombers

Replace most of those Defender squads with Interceptor squads.

I thought about going with interceptors, but I love me some Defenders. Fighter superiority says what? lol

Not trying to bust your balls here, but you're talking about trying to build a "realistic" ISD group, while adding in Defenders over TIEs and INT because it's much cooler to you. How about doing a realistic build first, and then the Defender build for yourself?

This would be a more "realistic" battlegroup. I went with the same objectives, commander, and ships. OP raiders exhaust all defense tokens on 2 ships, Quasar uses squadrons to wipe the shields, then Avenger finishes them off (hopefully). You can also switch DC for more reserve hanger decks to regen 4 interceptors.
