Which of these shots are legal?

By flatpackhamster, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I am still not happy that I know the rules for which shots can go where. I think I've understood and then my brain fails. I have done a picture to try to clarify my question.

The Red arrows denote attacks from the ISD against three different zones on the AF.

The shot at the rear of the AF crosses the line marking a different zone. The line 'blocks' the yellow spots from 'seeing' each other.

The shot at the front of the AF doesn't cross the line but it crosses where the line would be if it were extended outwards. But the yellow spots can still 'see' each other.

Are all the red shots legit?

The shot to the Rear, No. As it crosses a hull zone which is NOT the target zone.*

The Shot to the front yes. You don't extend Hull borders beyond the Cardboard when calculating LOS in that direction.

*unless it is crossing the *exact point* where the hull zone touches the end of the cardboard. Arguably, that would be a legal shot. But if there is ANY FRACTION of Side Hull that the line crosses... Not legal..

OK, thank you. So with this one all three shots are legal from the front of the AF to the different zones on the ISD? The ISD's front couldn't shoot because of the green lines, but the AF could shoot the front of the ISD because its shot isn't crossing the hull border, it's just really close?

Had to switch connection

as long as no part of that line shooting at the front touches the side - it’s a good shot.

That's great, thank you.

One day I will successfully play this game and know the rules. One day.

Oh, my sweet summer child... I remember holding this belief three years ago.
