That scene is so much better if you view it as Han trying to scam a couple of backwater farmers, Luke buying it all, and Kenobi completely out-witting Han by playing on his obvious desperation and greed.

If you look at Kenobi and Luke’s expressions when Han mentions the Kessel Run, that is totally what it looks like. Ben is trying hard not to let his “this guy is so full of crap” face show.
