Ketsu and Boba

Hey guys, I’m looking for some feedback for this 2 ship build. Constructive criticism is always welcome. I have a small store tournament this coming Sunday and I’ve been toying around with this list.

I used to fly Emon and Asajj in 1.0 days and I’ve kind of upped the ante with 2.0.

The plan is to hopefully always be engaging first to make use of Greedo, double focus for potential rockets and use for offence and defence. Aswell as keeping at close range, I have the potential for long range also with HLC, I’m really not keen on the idea but it’s there for the “just incase” moment and I have that bullseye.

With Ketsu, get close and tractor anyone and everyone as much as possible and allow from the punch from Boba.

Maul can help provide some defence when to take some dents and dings.

My initial reaction to Proton rockets is not to take them, since Boba wants range 1 to have that double modded and then you're only getting an extra die over his primary once for 7 points. But I would play a few games on Fly Casual to see how you feel about them. Also unsure about HLC, but that might work out.

Second thing is that you can only have Greedo gunner on Boba with Marauder, so I'm not sure what squadbuilder you used that let you have Greedo and Slave 1.

If you do take Marauder instead of Slave 1, I'm not sure about Fearless, since they work in separate arcs.

Contraband Cybernetics is really handy on Ketsu. If it can be afforded, it's worth taking. Her 5-K is so amazingly good that getting locked out of it because you're stressed from Maul or another 5-K can be frustrating. Meanwhile, also grabbing an action on a flip turn can be really useful. Might even be worth considering on Boba.

I feel like the two bullseye weapons on Boba Fett are certainly a mistake. It almost surely won't happen enough to be worthwhile to have more than just one. I'd cut HLC first, since Proton Rockets might be sneaky-good. They'd probably happen at Range 1 if they happen, so you'd have a Boba reroll or two plus the Focus. But it is very expensive, for only one added attack die. Honestly, I'd probably cut both, but I'm jaded and cynical, and Proton Rockets might be really fun to test out.

Skip Greedo/Marauder, take Slave 1 . It's just too dang useful. Qi'ra is also pretty sweet (doesn't always look like much on paper or in the list builders, but on-table she's been far more useful than I'd have expected), but Perceptive Copilot (or IG-88 D, if you're trying to conserve points) are both good.

I'd also consider just Hull or Shield upgrade on the ships, to try to keep them healthy a little longer. It's not a must-have, but I think I'd prefer it to HLC and Proton Rockets. Probably not too big a difference, but so it's more just personal preference than anything else.

Shield upgrade is debatable. Boba is tougher due to reinforce and rerolls, so Ketsu will need something defensive to keep up.

Alternatively a proton bomb on Boba may be nice.

Cybernetics in finally close to playable, so why not.

But why not take a third ship? It's cheap, can coordinate and goes boom like a proton bomb, what's not to love?

I must have left greedo on with launch bay and then changed the title to slave 1.

I currently don’t own Lando’s falcon so I’m a little limited in terms of he escape craft and Qira as a crew.

I like the idea of contra band cybernetics, could do a cheeky talon roll.

ALSO it turns out that my original list with maurader and Greedo is illegal, it went to 202 so I just removed HLC.

even though I’m counting on getting range one and jousting for fearless and the Greedo crit, I want to say it may be worth it, on top of that, I know that proton rockets wouldn’t work out with fearless anyway.

Stumbled upon this thread from a while ago and wanted to post a new version of this concept. Fearless on Ketsu to maximize damage output. Tobias helps me set up the initial engagement to better tractor stuff into rocks. Boba is Boba. I think it would be fun fly but I doubt it compares to other Boba +1 lists like Nym, Bossk, Guri, or Fenn. Still, if you're looking for a Ketsu build then maybe this could do something?

I used to fly these two ships quite a lot and I feel there is something there, just not super competitive, I completely agree, there are better options for Boba plus 1.

Funny seeing this thread bumped, i took Boba/Ketsu to gsp coruscant tourney. Went 3-3, with 2 games decided at last shots and the last game i made a few errors. I feel like there is a lot of potential. Just started practicing it a few days before so could do better i feel

Don't mind the boba build, i was getting bad greens when practicing so i figured hey why not just roll more lol. Though it did prevent a lot of damage on Boba.

Seasoned nav on ketsu is amazing, basically slave 1 on steroids. Super great on 3s and can do a 2 you feel is good, but if it's not the right maneuver do a 2 which is white now. Can end up in the best spot no matter what you dial in as long as you do the right speed. I dont think i will ever fly ketsu without it.

I definitely dig this, the ability for repositioning is great, I think I'll give this a good look into :)

Just FYI Boba lost his crew slot. Not that he’s unplayable without it but is definitely hindered without Maul or IG.
