• Harrow and the fleet command

It could just as well be the letter 'l'

A lowercase L is more likely for the end of a line.

Edit: nvm, that was no doubt what you were saying.

Correct 'l' as in lower case L

My point is that image is too grainy and low res to tell lower case L from exclamation point.

Ehhh, it really looks like an exclamation point. Can't say off the top of my head why an italicized lowercase "L" would show up there either (unless it's referring to a different title, and I can't think of any that ends with an L).

Fleet command seems the most plausible explanation to me. Something related to Entrapment Formation would be nice.

There are plenty of words at existing cards that end with a "l": small, hull, admiral, attack pool, additional, command dial, roll/reroll, equal, ... There is no card yet with an "!" in the card text. And I don't remember an upgrade card referring to another upgrade card's name. The exclamation mark is unlikely.

At the moment we know near to nothing about the card text. If the first line ends with a circle (what we only guess) and with an "r." Then it resembles the layout of Minister Tua card.

The rest is wishful thinking.

Not to nit-pick here, but the word "admiral" also does not appear on upgrade cards except in unique names of officers and commanders... 😉

But seriously, there may or may not be an exclamation mark on this card. And the card may or may not be the first deviation from the normal phrasing of upgrade cards by specifically mentioning another upgrade card by name.

It's not as if there are loads of other things to talk about until GenCon.

I'm just pleased that many of the revealed upgrade cards are full of novel ideas. The campaign introduces space creature obstacles, several objective cards with unusual obstacle movement, proximity mine tokens, zombie-swarms, a super-charged anti-squadron attack and a cloaking rogue assault squadron. Perhaps there are more "unlikely" things to come, perhaps not.

Back in March and based upon this picture, I said, "hey look, I think the card reads '• Harrow'" and more people than not disagreed. And last August, I deciphered Piett's card effect from this picture.

I just use Photoshop a lot.

Now, I'm saying, "hey look, I think there's an exclamation mark." Just make of it what you will...

Okay I draw back the "Admiral" and throw in: until, reveal, cancel, total, all, ...

Your point has been, that it has to be "!" in the text, because you don't know another word that ends with "l" other than "Squall". And that point is proven wrong.

I photoshop myself and if I take the screenshot, give it a higher resolution and filter it for clearer sight, I don't see any "!" at all.

First line is a circle and most likely a "support team" icon.
Second line is a "r." (but could be u.)

Third line is clearly "g".

Fourth line seems to be "ur", but that's hard to guess.
Fifth line looks like a brace? ")"

I layed a "Support Team" icon over the circle in the image and it fits perferctly to the silhuette. I'm 99% sure the Harrow title card wil give a Support Team slot for 3 points. (I hope it's not 13.)

My hope is that it adds a Support Team slot, and has a second bonus underneath. But I hope it has nothing to do with the Fleet Command slot. If it added Fleet Command, then it's a Chimaera clone and that's just lazy game design. If it depends on Fleet Command being in the list, then that limits the kind of list you can make with it.

What if it adds a support team slot and then decreases the cost of engine techs? Or the slot in general by 3-5 to a minimum of 1?

Remember, there is an exclamation point in the Harrow title text, and currently I don't think there's a way for imps to field a VSD and get fleet command inside of 200 pts (which is the format for this campaign after all). If Harrow doesn't grant fleet command of some kind (even just an "Entrapment Formation!" slot), it won't be usable in the included campaign until the very last battle, so I doubt this is the case.

Surely it adds fleet command.

A Cymoon with Intensify firepower! And a victory 1 come out to 191 points so u could get a VSD and a fleet command in for under 200 points, granted it's probably not the most optimal build for the campaign.

Even if Harrow 'only' gave you a slot for Engine Techs for 3pts that would be grand. Points well spent for a speed '3' VSD. And imagine what its turning circle would be like with Jerjerrod!

I was thinking it only allows “entrapment formation!” and while you do you can increase yaw as well as adjust speed for all affected ships.

This way it doesn’t encroach on the Chimera, but it’s also usable in 200-pt fleets and could make dual-vsd viable in that format... maybe?

Definitely still room for a support team slot in the first row as well.

But what do I know?

I’ll also say the letter is clearly italicized, be it an l, an I, or an exclamation point. Beyond that we’ll have to wait and see.
