CIS sort-of aces

So I've been messing about with this as a concept since we got 404 spoiled, and now with points and a model I finally got a version of it on the table

Triple Aces

So this went up against a friend of mine flying two Skill 1 interceptors and the Skill 4+5 bombers (I don't play Imperial so I really can't remember the names, sorry)

Game went my way (only lost 404) but there is something of a difference in 2.0 knowledge (I've got 70+ games in, he's on less than 10) so I'm not sure if it's a good guage for the list. The one thing that really didn't fit was the Probe droids, they did nothing except erm my opponent points when he killed 404. So here is my second take on this;

So I suppose there are a few questions;

- is anyone else running this, and what have your experiences been with it?

- which version do you think is more competitive?

- any changes you would suggest?

I think the Probe Droids are still really good just don't put them on 404 since he's an easy target and self-damages.

Perceptive Co on Maul is kinda pointless

One agility don't benefit so much; hate force basically already gives you infinite "focus"

Now, I've run hate + dookrew + Grevous crew (mostly been a shield upgrade) Maul..man's it's borked

Dookrew doesn't get much chance to support, but Maul is basically a one-man army. Even if you bump, your dookrew crit + force basically grants you full mods. When you take concetrated fire, hate + dookrew are there to make your opponent miserable

Don't forget to Dookcrew the opponent's obstacle damage or evade dice!

Card says attack or defense dice, so cant mod obstacle since its not part of an attack?

Attack die = red die

After overlapping/moving through an obstacle, you roll an attack die as per rules ref

Dookrew doesn't specify "when attacking or defending,"

Similarly, it can be used for brutal prox mines

(Edit: semi-brutal. Because the ship targeted has to change a die, they could just turn a prox hit into a crit)

I gotta say, I love that Maul build, with the exception of Dookcrew. Hate and PerCo should be stapled to him for consistent, and consistently modded, double shots. But Dooku is 10 points for a single extra force you probably wouldn't notice not having, because his ability will RARELY proc on a pilot like Maul.

Greivous, of course, is Greivous. Lovely, as always, with the full kit of Outmaneuver, Plating, and Soulless One.

I'm not convinced by 404, but if you use them, APTs alone seems like more than enough investment. Anything more and he'll die too fast to be worth it imo.

That leaves room for a TFD. Another ship, and an excellent blocker.

And today I learned that Maul's ability isn't strictly a 1st ed gunner-esque effect

Though in my experience Dookrew basically procs every turn; multiple times a turn with hate

Then again I thought mail's ability was only ever on miss and you basically never miss with Dookrew

Thanks everyone for the feedback,

The PerCo, Hate, Dookcrew combo on Maul is all about the multiple modded attacks, trying to keep Dookie active as much as possible and using the double focus to keep the damage going.

I'll give the probe droids another try, this time on Maul.

Now the real meat of the issue, Dookcrew on Maul and outmanoeuvre on Grievous OR a Trade Federation Drone blocker?

I belive probes makes the most value with droids (specially with shells) that needs to make fast value of their pts.

Found my self staring at this creation after reading this thread. Mixed feelings with using a ship called Feethan (wich sounds like a swedish word for female genitals).
