Hi

On some cards it says discard to use. On some it doesn't. Example is the Captain card 'A Fey Mood'. It says Strike 2 at the bottom.

Do I discard the card if I use the Strike 2, or is that a permanent strike buff?

My understanding is that I discard it, since it on the last page of the rulebook with the explanation of Keywords, says discard card to use.

However on the Captain card 'Lead the Charge' it says specifically (When you attack, discard to add 2 hits) I kinda figure this is because it is one of the starting cards, that it reminds the player of the rule.

Any thoughts?

Hi, you're right. The full text is only included on the starter cards. For any effect like strike 2, guard 3 etc, the card has to be discarded for the effect unless it specifically states not to.

Yes, the only keyword that doesn't require a discard is scout, but I don't think any card has scout as a stand alone ability.
