while I don't have the stones to use Cova, I would like to try a similar Nodin'
With ms. reinforces-while-stressed and ms. lul-stress on blues, Nodin' can coordinate + ability action even after taking a red maneuver (since it's two or fewer stress tokens)
50 points is still hefty for a vertically challenged B-wing, but hey it's a mighty strong ability

Edit: so the updated RR doesn’t say what I thought it did... but I still disagree that it should work that way, personally. Did the TO judge one way or another or was there enough consensus to not ask a TO over?
Nobody disagreed with the rules reference entry. Dial is printed with red maneuver. Cova gets ability. Done. Those who were aware of the controversy and spoke to me about it thought the controversy was silly. Don't be silly.

Leia obviously has the benefit of effecting other dials, and all of Cova's manoeuvres, but do you think R4+PA would work with your battle plan of using it as a spearhead?
I used Leia about 80% of the time on Cova herself, but that other 20% was vital.
And I used Cova more as an anvil than as a spearhead. I'd drive people towards her, then smash people into her with the APTs and Prockets. There was only one game I had to bring Cova to the fight rather than driving the fight to Cova.
Little Annie in the Naboo fighter is awesome. He's a nuisance who can keep on target pretty easily while going fast.
Anyone get any results with Plasma Torpedoes or Diamond Borons? The latter is stronger than I first thought (didn't know it could do 4 damage), but quite restrictive. I kind of feel it needs reload, so I'm thinking Punisher or Gunboat maybe?

Only white banks are speed 2; no speed 3.
It's really bad at getting around the place quickly, so you really want struts to make it a non-issue
As an all in Separatist player, what are "banks"?

They're the things that would let droids quickly engage anything coming at them from a 45 degree angle
Things thatre very sorely missed after having gotten used to TIE bombers
Also, Borons have been nice. They're basically a giant ESC for the baktoid hyena, where you get two shots and one of them asplodes for a surprising amount of damage. At six points , it is costed appropriately

Hey, I find the 2 banks to be an incredibly handy tool on Vultures 😜
That said, apart from screwing up he speedy approach (I love my 5-straights), I kindof wanna try setting up at a 45 degree angle, now. You can still choose between 3 speeds...

Lies of the Jedi, that's what!

That's why you use board edges to make them come at you from 90 degrees where you fly just as good if not better than anything else. Also I feel like you're really undervaluing movement from 4-5 straights or 3 hards combed with linked roll > calcs. You can actually meet most threats at high speed with just those tools.
I've only had a chance to add my 5th tie SF to the table. played 5 with fcs and ion missiles vs Padme, baby Ani and obi-wan. Nobody died. got 3 SF's halved and halved Obi and Ani. won 62-60. fun.
Gonna put some new Silencers on the table next.

I don't have linked roll calcs, I got linked roll locks
Sadly less useful when I already got probes helping out before engagement
plus, stress after linked no bueno. Banks are great for parking yourself on a rock (struts) at just the right angle. Only having a speed-2 to do it with isn't super great
droid dials have their perks, but let's not pretend the lack of banks isn't a weakness

That's what they thought, but both games that I was able to just watch beginning to end and break down what he did, he was...meh.
Game 1) he was being used as a pocket ace, participated in the long range joust and did no damage, then couldn't follow the torrents in because he'd have to go too slow, so he looped around a rock, finally came back, took a pot shot that did minor damage, got blocked on a 3 bank in front of a Tallon rolling T-70 and then had to flee and regen to not give up points and he did that till time was called. Net contribution 1 damage and eating a single attack.
Game 2) little better this time, used as a flanker for sinker swarm, had trouble consistently staying on target and getting bonuses in the giant furball and couldn't simply break off, did a good bit more this time, but no better than an extra ARC 170 (which is incidentally what his opponent had and his opponetn won).
The pattern was pretty clear, his maneuver dial was so heavily dictated by both full throttle and his ability that it was hard to do what he needed to do and even with wide flanking maneuvers consistently had issues not overshooting. And even when he did, if he didn't go faster than the other ship (like if they both did 3, which happened a lot) his damage and suitability just plummeted. I'm not in the "he's trash" camp, at least yet, but neither game showed me a compelling reason as to why he was a better pick than just a vanilla ARC.
I've been playing him for a couple of weeks and feel like I finally got him down. It takes some practice to keep him on target. This weekend in 3 games he had shots on every turn I wasn't intentionally disengaging and punched well above his weight in terms of cost to production for me. I think as people get used to flying him he'll be more productive. Right now he's the Republic ship I'm having the most fun with.

Having come from imp swarms of great variety, I get challenges with the brain shift. My adepticon run was tie swarm in extended to vulture swarm in hyperspace and hoo boy did that flop
But having gotten more time with the droids, I'll say that the straight into hard-turns with a barrel/calc to adjust the whole group has been a fascinating new way to look at swarms. They play so differently and have arguably better tools to set the location of the opening engagement that I haven't really been missing the banks.
At least not when trading them for 5-8 range 3 3-dice attacks with a free crit attached

It's fun, if a bit degenerate.
Played my first two wave 4 games.
List one: Anakin (r4, calibrated targeting), Padme (juke and collision detect), handmaiden, gold squad
List two: Heroic BB8, Rose, 2x red squad escorts, Lulo with trick shot and adv optics.
Naboo fighters are kinda fun in a super go fast way, but the handmaiden is a lot harder to keep lined up, particularly when you don’t want to joust an opposing list. Padme May be good but she was too expensive at that point. Probably drop the detector and then find some better points choices. The biggest thing that bothered me was no k turns.
Resistance transport pods are kinda like Z95s for the faction and actually work pretty good. Rose hangs back to get friendly ships in the firing arc for rerolls. BB is decent too with his pre-move reposition shenanigans, and the t70s are solid as always. I’ll fly the list again.
Im working on new Republic lists for the Naboo fighters.

Haha, I did something like this last night! Autoblasters and Advanced Optics, five Logistics Division pilots.
TBH, they're tanky turds and they can take a beating- and Autoblasters allow them to dish it RIGHT back out.
Lets see, got two games with resistance transport. One was Jess Bastian,Snap with Cova,r4,PA. Another with Nodin along with Jess,Bastian,Lulo. Nodin has ion cannon,r4,korra and with a reroll from m9g8 on bastian + focus action after coordinating has 74% to get 3 hits. Won both games. I like what the transport brings to resistance.
Also got a game in with:
Anakin + CLT + Brilliant Evasion + R2A6 (change speed droid)
Plo + delta7b + R4P17 (action after red)
Ric + Daredevil + R2C4 (spend evade on attack to change eye to hit)
This is probably my favorite republic list at the moment. Ric daredevils into range 1 and plo tosses him a focus. Anakin can get aggressive and go into range 1 and lock and plo can toss him an evade. Versus vader dutchess vermeil: plo moved and focused, and vader blew passed his arc. Anakin moved and locked vader and plo tossed anakin a focus. Another turn, Plo kturned range 1 behind dutchess and focsed with r4p17 bot while Ric daredeviled and got range 1 on dutchess. Plo tossed him a focus. Dead dutchess.

Tried this one in sim. Poor Cova died immediately to focus-down skull squadron pilots. Temmin shortly after.
Jess and Bastian pulled the win.

I know someone at my LGS has been trying a 5-strong N-1 swarm with R2 astromechs. I dread to think how much effort is going to be needed to kill those things.
