Rebel Assault Troopers or Partizans next?

By LordUrban, in Star Wars: Legion

Which infantry unit would folks be most interested in seeing next for the Alliance?

The determined and heavily armed Assault Troopers specializing in frontal attacks.

Or

The morally questionable Partizans who launch devastating ambushes heedless of collateral damage.

Honestly, the Partisans would be a better option. A lot of unique aliens in Saw’s group, as well as Saw himself as a commander.

I would also like to see Enfys Nest and her crew as well.

I'm hoping for the Partizans, as a stupid cheap but extremely offensive option, paired with something like the a cheap, highly defensive option like Mudtroopers for Imperials.

Would the partizans be a corp or a special forces unit though. Also not super familiar with Rebel Assult troopers where are they from?

Rebel assault troopers would be nothing we can’t approximate with pathfinders.

Since the partisans are not IN the alliance I find them unlikely to be released FOR the alliance.

But likelihood aside, given those two choices I would want an all-alien squad of partisans that have many new uses. Rather than another other repetitive release. Legion can’t sustain much more repetition in such a small number of SKU’s.

I mean yeah per the fluff they were not part of the Alliance but they were released as part of the Alliance in xwing so there is an FFG presidence

Rebel Assault Troopers in various games usually have grenade/thermal detonator launchers or missiles. They aren't even close to Pathfinders. Partisans were definitely Rebels, so they would work just fine in the faction. Thematically they work at least as well as playing Luke, Sabine, and Jyn in the same list. 😏

Also, no one except you considers the fact that several models all have the same Rebel helmet (that happened to have been used on Endor) as repetition that is going to kill the game. Having similar helmets is not "repetitive."

I did two google image searches and you’re right. The one is less armored and the other more armored than I remembered.

I still want a bunch of crazy creatures with blasters instead.

Legion had problems of artistic repetition beyond rebel hats however. It won’t bankrupt a game overnight but it’s a bad long term path for any miniature war game. Basically, this early in the releases, adding to anything already broadly achievable ought to be avoided. No matter what keywords they give them.

On this point we are 100% agreed.
