If Huge Ships are not tournament legal will you still put them in a 200 point list?

You bet I will. More chances to use my Gozanti, and to finally figure out the GR75? Heck yeah.

Now Captain Jim. Some of us have been listening to your ramblings for a very long time. You've said you were a hard-core tournament fiend for a Wave or two?

He got better, okay?

True, but 5 or 8 threat is still 5 or 8 threat, and that's clearly visible on the quick build cards in the conversion kit spread

I agree with much of what you said except this quote. my point is that cards shown in preview are frequently not final, accurate, or even real. you cant know its threat level or much else until one of us has the box in hand. not only are they still in development when preview images get done, but the G.Designer has to straight up render CG graphics of the assumed product which may not be finished yet... so sometimes they just have to make stuff up to fill in blanks. hence we see scum ships with a tie bomber chit on them in previews, or upgrades with different wording/rules text than the released product, etc.

with the app now thats all "flexible" too. so in short who the **** knows.

What's a tournament?

I think it's where you give out prizes to bribe people into playing against you.

If my opponents don't mind, I'd love to actually get some use out of my Huge ships.

Indeed. I think a corvette may be unlikely, but I can see no reason that a Gozanti carrier plus its squadron of TIE fighters shouldn't fit in a squad.

In fact, a Gozanti plus Inferno Squadron feels like a rather apt squad, thinking about it.

I mean they've often had wording wrong, but ballpark pricing can't be that far off. I mean, even if a loaded Raider ends up coming to 9 or 10 threat, what are the chances you can't fit one in 8 at all? It's just very unlikely to me. Just my 2 cents.

Also, I mean they've repeatedly said you can use them in casual 200-pt games. I don't think they'd say that if they don't even fit.

I sure am hoping that I can.

My biggest question will be, "Will the Standard rule of no more than 1 bonus attack per ship apply to Huge ships in a Standard game?"

I am guessing there will be the Epic set of rules that allow Huge ships more attacks than in Standard, but if a corvette can equip 3 or 4 hard points in under the 200 point cap but then can't fire them, that will make the difference on how people use them.

The CR90 has three primaries already, which is pretty sweet (broadsides and turret). The Raider could double-tap its primary in 1e as well.

All that to say I doubt most huge ships will want or need more than 2 secondary weapons.

Maybe they'll limit number of attacks per arc, or per target? That way Huge ships could be a major threat, but not instantly vaporize everything they so much as look at.

Yeah that's probably the way. If I remember rightly the old raider could end up doing about 4 attacks from each of it's arcs which was a bit much. But that required it to miss some of them due to how quad laser turrets worked. That said I'd like some AOE attack options like how cluster missiles work but for even more targets... so maybe not.
