I'm trying to recall what they have said about Wave 5. The official article says "third quarter 2019". That is basically July, August, and September. In the past, they would sell things that weren't going to be on sale until December, so Wave 5 seems like a bad thing. Then again, maybe they think it would be coolest.

Epic Battles and/or Huge Ship Conversions are probably the better answer. Do you think we will get BOTH? Or just one? If so, which one?

Also, which are you guys most excited about? It is a tough call, but probably the EPIC BATTLES.

As for FFG things at GenCon:

Wave 5 for sure.

Epic highly probable, becayse if it is a good format it will quite push ship sales.

The Huge are good eye candy and eye-catchers, so at least for exposition I'd would expect them on display. For sale, do not think so.

Personally really looking forward to hear more about the Epic Battles box.

And the OT factions could use some fresh pilots on old chassis, so I am curious regarding the illustrious "card packs", but not having high expectations.

I'm the opposite. That ship, along with the Ghost, are probably the most exciting additions of the wave for me.

Plus, it makes total sense to me that the Geonosian starfighters would be escorted by Vultures and Hyenas, considering that their planet hosted the factories that built the blasted things.

That only adds up to 4 wings, and they'll die super fast, speeding things up in short order.

Find a way to get TA-175 in there and you'll have 4 calculates on each every turn.

I was talking about Epic. It's supposed to release just after Wave 5, early in Q4, so probably early/mid October. It will be shown off at Coruscant and my understanding is that players are supposed to bring their own. This puts it pretty much on par to be potentially pre-sold.

Of course, I'm not counting on it or anything; they've definitely run into delays and the like before. Still, I do think it's a possibility, and Wave V really doesn't have much to offer worth making the trip for.

They actually said it would drop just after Wave V at the beginning of the 4th quarter, and Wave VI should hit by the end of the year.

Hey now, we are not from the "Deep South". North Carolina only has Virginia above it as a Southern state. Not Deep at all. Almost a Border State.

As for 24 Vultures, you can Wing them up and they move super fast. Rolling for shooting can get fast if you move a little fast.

I’ll be surprised if they have anything X-Wing beyond Wave V since the rest has a Q4 release.

However, since I don’t have plans to attend GenCon this year, they will probably have Wave V, Epic Battles, Huge Ship Conversions, Card Packs, the Armada Super Star Destroyer, Armada Rebellion in the Rim and free kittens and puppies dressed as Stormtroopers!!

Edited to add: I just realized GenCon is only 3 weeks away!!!!!!

Edited to add: @heychadwick FFG just updated and a bunch of stuff including the Armada Super Star Destroyer and Rebellion in the Rim is “On the boat”. That sets up nicely for a GenCon release. You might just get more stuff at GenCon than expected. Make room for a new puppy or kitten!

Amazon is notorious for making up shipping dates.

I'm sure we'll get more info on Epic and Wave 5, a sneak peek at wave 6, and I can only DREAM of getting information on card packs.

Heck, maybe some news on playmats! Of all the things from first edition, those are the ONLY THING yet to get some kind of 2.0 treatment. I wanna see new mats, I wanna see old mats, I want to see 3x6 mats!

I want to decorate my walls with these things!

I'll be thrilled if Epic Battles and or Huge Conversion kits are available for purchase at GC. I'm hoping that FFG will at least be running demos of Epic Battles (simplistic scenario to showcase formation movement and the new upgrades/cards) & Huge Ship mechanics at GC.

Definitely most excited for Epic. My kitchen table friends tend to play flat-out 500-pt games (really 300 because they still play 1st edition but they're in the process of converting) and I never wanted to before. THIS changes all of that though . Wing squads, objectives, and some huge ships could make it so much fun. Guaranteeing that your Vader won't get focus-fired and totally shot down is just such an exciting idea. SR Vader plus 5 academy pilots clocks in at just under half your list and probably packs quite a punch.

And then you're all but guaranteeing SUPERNATURAL VADER makes it to the endgame and can easily solo what's left of the squad. Pair with a Raider, a bomber wing, or some TIE Defenders for maximum threat.

Actually, you can fit 3 delta defenders and a Sloane Sai shuttle with Advanced Sensors. SWEET! So you can try to take Vader out, but you'll only be killing his TIEs. And as they die, you'll be double-stressing yourself and giving them re-rolls. Or you can go for the shuttle and let Vader's squad hammer you to death. Meanwhile the Defenders will just wreck your life. SO many options that 500pts opens up.
