Also note the new symbol may be Disney’s new Canon Sith Symbol.

I suppose it makes sense to, not sure I like it though. I wonder if the Sith emblem redesign is part of the ongoing plans for a KotOR era trilogy?

Oh, you have not heard of Darth Dracula? I thought not, its a fan legend. His iconography was so powerful, he was able to cross dimensions into different realities...

As far as I can tell, there’s no other kind of online drama. Most in-person drama seems rather pointless, too, when you get down to it.

Them's fightin' words.

Not going to lie.. these weapon options do not do a thing for me. The tonfa/sword looks unwieldy (Strangely I didn't mind FN-2199’s shock tonfa) and what is with the claw? Purple nurple troopers? Or is it in case a sith lord or officer drops their keys down a storm drain?

Otherwise I do like the visual design - the extra texture, as well as the more angular shape.

At San Diego ComicCon the Sith Trooper placard (which was removed before opening to the public) read:

In its ultimate push towards galactic conquest, the First Order readies an army of elite soldiers that draw inspiration and power from a Dark and ancient legacy.

The claw looks like one of those "made for the toy" kind of weapons to me. Doesn't look like something we'll see in the movie, but it's still so early on. You never know.

And I agree. I'm still loving the look of these Sith Troopers.

I guess that cuts out any theories that these troopers are independent of the First Order. Which is kinda disappointing because that might have been cool.

Ah well, I'm still excited to see them in action in the movie.

There is still a possibility that Hux has a coup - he hates Kylo, and there are still sentinel (operation cinder) droids likely functioning.

What do you guys think of the gun?

Not a fan of the obvious ar style stock. I realise that all star wars guns are based on real world designs, but basing them off of sterlings, mausers and mg-34s gave them a cool archaic look.

I think it isn't too bad.. 30 years in design for the First Order putting the guns up to design styling from the 2000’s?

I’m wondering if, because of the controversy of TLJ, that Disney is making episode 9 in a way, so that you can ignore 8?

So that if you’re a fan of 8, you can include it in your movie collection, but if you’re not, you can exclude it and the series will still make sense.

I guess then it would be the only 2 movie trilogy. 😂 😜 🤪

I mean....Rian sort of ignored Abrams setup. Maybe Abrams is ignoring Rian's work?

Probably the only way to fix the mess is to pretend it never happened :) Retcon ftw.

I sure hope not. That would be a petty slap in the face to the people who enjoyed the last jedi. I don't care for the prequels but I don't try to pretend they don't exist.

That's absolutely a G36c foregrip in there, not sure what else they used though. Some kind of AK variant maybe?

Agreed. I get what they're going for - SW guns are based on real guns, we want Sequel era stuff to look "modern", so lets use modern guns instead of WW2 ones. It doesn't work for me at all though, they're too much of a departure from the "used future" aesthetic but not in the interesting retro/art deco way that the Prequel designs were, and the trouble with using teched-up modern guns is...that's what everyone does. It's been the trend in sci-fi visuals to do "basically [insert pistol or assault rifle] with gubbinz on" for well over a decade now, and Star Wars bringing to mind The Expanse or Dark Matter in terms of visuals is just wonky IMO, uncanny valley territory.

Eh, the Prequels go that way as well for a lot of folk. I've watched Ep1 a few times over the years, but I much prefer Machete Order(IV, V, II, III, VI) these days.

Lol, how is it a "slap in the face"? As I say above, Ep1 is pretty much unnecessary for the subsequent two Prequel movies - little of note carries over, and anything that does is re-introduced(sometimes better than the first time around) - I don't think I've ever seen anyone suggest that's a "slap in the face" to fans of Ep1.

Whilst walmart is a worse place than the mos eisley - seriously stop shopping there- it is cool to see these figures. Gotta say I love the jet troopers!
