I am new to Legion - I have played WOTC Star Wars Miniatures for years and I want to upgrade. My wife wants to play the rebels and I want to be the empire. We both are fascinated with the Battle on Hoth and want to recreate it. I know that this may be a hot topic and if it is not allowed or needs to be in a different location then please let me know. But is Fantasy Flight going to be bringing an AT-AT to Legion? If they can bring the Super Star Destroyer to Armada, what is stopping them from bringing the AT-AT to Legion?
New to Legion
It is the wrong part of the forum however the superstar destroyer is possible in Armada because it is at least a similar type of vehicle that he whole game is based round. Legion is a small unit combat system. an AT AT however is of a much larger scale than the game is meant for. An ATST is about 1/4 of the points of a full army, an AT AT built to scale would not be able to fit the board without being in both deployment zones. Even a cut down size one (like the SSD) would be taking up a lot of the board, and most of the points of an Army. That isn't to say it's not possible to fit into the game and there is a drive for it there would have to be special rules for it, but it's not like putting AN SSD in Armada, it's like dropping an SSD into X-Wing to give a better idea of scale difference.

The AT-AT has an issue of scale, it isn't impossible but currently unlikely. IIRC a fan made one ended up being close to 2 feet tall. But like I said, not impossible. Maybe even a scenario box set built around one.
The WotC AT-AT isn't too far off, if you have one. I have one and plan on using it for scenarios. You can unscrew it from its rectangular base. Only issue with that is it isn't posable, so you'd need pretty flat terrain or make it immobile in your house rules. Disney's $50 AT-AT popcorn bucket is posable and about the right size. And revell makes a 1:53 AT-AT model (again, this one is posable). Those are pretty much it for AT-AT's that you can use that look reasonably within scale. Someone on reddit did the math and Legion is really closest to 1:47 scale. As for an official release.. I doubt it. I don't think something that size is in FFG's wheelhouse. I would love it if they did, but they've got a lot of releases to prioritize (in my opinion) before an AT-AT. Especially when there are some options already out there for those of us with AT-AT fever to proxy.
