Calling all Scum - I5 Squad Advice

Hello Scum players, hope everyone had a safe and relaxing 4th of July. Wanted to get your advice on some I5 Scum lists. With the recent points adjustment, or lack there of for Scum, seems like the I5 pilots have a little more room to shine. Between Boba, Guri, Ketsu, Old T, TBC, Kavil, Nym, and Serissu I feel we have a very good group to build around. I’ve contemplated a few lists and wants to get y’alls opinion:

Option 1 (my preferred list):

Ketsu

  • Fearless, Perceptive Copilot, Contraband Cybernetics, Shadowcaster

Old T

  • Fearless

TBC

  • Fearless

  • Marksman, Autoblasters, Perceptive Copilot, Marauder, BT-1

Guri

  • Predator, Advanced Sensors, Virago, Shield Upgrade

Option 3 (yes, I know Fenn is not I5 but the squad seems fun):

What option combinations work? I feel Kavil, Serissu, and CPT Nym should be tons of fun with the right upgrades. What are your thoughts and how can the above lists be improved. Thanks in advance for the advice.

List 1: Drop Contraband and swap out Perceptive Copilot for Maul crew. His mod is action and maneuver agnostic with out the 1 per game limitation that the PerCo + Contraband combo has.

List 2: Reduce PerCo on Boba to 88-D and up Pred on Guri to Outmaneuver.

List 3: Stealth Device on TBC is not really helping much. Maybe swap it for Afterburners (your link has TBC with Shield + Stealth) or Hull and trade out Fearless for Pred on him.

List 1: I haven’t tried Maul yet but will definitely try him out. I keep forgetting Force points can be used even if you’re stressed.

List 2: That makes sense. So random question, would Veteran Tail Gunner ever be advised on Boba combined with Marauder?

List 3: Yeah, I thought I copied the correct link but I failed. It should have been TBC with Afterburners + Shield Upgrade. I’ve kicked around the idea of Predator as well since it’s not Range 1 dependent.

Veteran Tail Gunner has the same issue as Veteran Turret Gunner on dual arc turrets, having your opponent's ships end up in both arcs often enough to be worth the points is extremely rare. Looks great on paper, but on the table it lacks.

Maul is very good. im sad they upped his points to 12. Feels like scum is copping it in some ways because other factions are a bit OP with some of these upgrades eg. Hate on Assaj was fine. Hate in Sith infiltrators was silly.

Very good point. I would also very much NOT like to be caught between two ships in order to trigger Vet Tail Gunner. BT-1 seems to have perfect synergy with Boba Fett although dependent on my opponent being stressed. I also contemplated Slave 1 + Proton Bombs + Delayed Fuses. I really enjoyed bombs in 1e and want to try them more in 2e.

scum has a few options for bomb carriers in 2.0 but not many that have caught on yet. Y-Wing is arguably the best bomb carrier. Emon of course but ur options for wingman become limited with him because of the points investment required to make him a true threat imo. Scum Nym is nice but He falls into the 'one of the many good initiative 5 pilots' for scum so I tend to use him more for his VTG/DT option more than his bomb carrier role. With VTG and DT both going up its getting squishy for even adding on a seismic without stripping your supporting ships of upgrades. cavil seems like a much better deal points wise than Nym right now and he does the same thing essentially.

Jury is out on delayed fuses. Not sure how good fuses is going to be tbh.

Zuvio can be good for bomb and mine shenanigans. Same exact ability as the Sep bombardment drone, just without the sensor slot and he's I4. Admittedly the Quad isn't as fast as a Hyena, but it is a bit more nimble and has the rage inducing tractor array. Proxy with fuse + sloop > a patterned tractor array push onto said proxy. 😈 Probably rare, but gravy when it does click.

Gave this list a try on Fly Casual and it wasn’t half bad. There are a lot of points invested in Nym but he was fun:
