Are missile tubes underpowered?

By P-47 Thunderbolt, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

I'm gonna give the non-RAW advice and say I'd personally bend the rules to allow cool stuff to happen. Lightsabers are supposed to cut anything that isn't resistant to them and in-canon AT-AT's have been cut down by 1 guy wielding a lightsaber and going for the legs.

Missile Launchers on the other hand were fired directly at the face of AT-ACT's and they shrugged it off like it was a minor nuisance.

In my games I opt for allowing called shots to deal temporary effects to vehicles with success and allow crits even when the armor hasn't been met/surpassed because otherwise sending 1 vehicle against a group is going to lead to a TPK.

No it wasn't. He cut through a hatch and throw in a grenade bypassing the armor, damaging the equipment from the inside and killing the crew.

I think GG is referring to this gem...

*Sigh* Rebels... I really tried to like you. I did. I get that you're a kids show, but why?

For me, when it came to lightsabers cutting through things I always think back to Qui-Gonn in episode one. He's trying to cut through a door and it is taking time. If my players want to cut through something with a lightsaber then it has to be more than one action.

My last campaign, we just did that. I set a skill challange for the jedi, with a fixed number of successes to melt the doorlock (3 succes against 2 red, the security door closes on despair - she rolled it for first, so i raised it to 5. They had to evade a droid phalanx, while she tried to open the door (took 3 turns with 3 yellow)

Indeed I was referring to that. It's been my sort of standard when running Star Wars that if it's been done in Canon it is possible in the game, to varying degrees of difficulty, of course.

I actually pulled that stunt off back in my old WEG days. I ran up next to an ATAT, and cut its ankles out from under it on the one side. "TIMBERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!"

Well, my sort of standard is the movies, (see empire strikes back for taking down an AT-AT) and these kidshows are a decent third behind EU, but YWMW

The EU is guilty of far fat worse

Hey, don't fat shame the European Union when America bulges with excess.
