Gotta Go Fast - Deltas and N-1s.

By XPav, in X-Wing Squad Lists

How about this:

Ric Olié (42)
Juke (7)
R2-A6 (6)

Obi-Wan Kenobi (47)
Sense (5)
Calibrated Laser Targeting (4)

Barriss Offee (39)

Anakin Skywalker (41)
Juke (7)
R4 Astromech (2)
Total: 200

Keep these guys together going fast.

Obi-Wan uses Sense. This informs Ricky Bobby, who can use R2-A6 to adjust his dial to go faster than the chosen target. In a good situation, everyone screams in at speed 3, Jukes for the N-1s.

Captain Obvious doesn't have to know what speed the enemy is going at, he just has to go faster - which means going at speed 3 if turning, or speed 4+ if not. Elberger might need to speed up or slow down to exploit Sense, but Olie's pilot ability gives no incentive to slow even if he discovers his target's only moving at speed 1.

By comparison, if moving fast enough for Full Throttle, I'd probably take R2-C4 instead. You can't use R2-C4 and Juke together, but the former is noticably cheaper and probably works better than a single copy of juke - which works best in multiples. Ric can then either lock for rerolls and spend his evade offensively as essentially a calculate token, or else use his action to boost or roll whilst still having modified dice, letting him hang onto the coat-tails of the fine-tuned controls crowd.

I thought about C4 on Ric, but I keep running into the thought of then not having the evade if/when he gets shot. On a 2 agility ship, that evade token is a huge part of his defense, and Juke at least lets you keep the token for defense. I think ultimately it needs to be tested on the mat.
