So according to the article from today, they’re going to have a game that they put on YouTube that has Clone Wars Core Set content July 9th. That’s when most things will probably be spoiled, including Grievous and the BARC speeder and maybe the Rollie Boys (sounds like a band 😂 ).

Then on July 31st they will be airing their In-Flight Report. I would imagine the Clone Wars Core will come out the following month, meaning August. My best guess, Thursday August 22nd (give or take a week).

Its killing me to wait, but it has been a year. 🙄 😳

Right on track for GenCon release

What do you know, my original guess of early release at GenCon and normal release in late August looks to be accurate.

This of course assumes that July is one helluva big month for FFG, and they put out the Rebel Vets, Tauntauns, Shoretroopers, and Dewbacks at once.

I am guessing we get the rebel half in July, the imperial half in August. Clone wars general release September with the GenCon early release.

My timeline assumes that we get all of that in one month, rather than split up. Do one last big "hurrah" for GCW before Clone Wars takes over a for a while. If that doesn't happen, then yes, the Clone Wars could get a general release in September.

I still think it would be weird to release CW cores at GenCon and then wait almost two months before the general release, however, so I still doubt that timeline. at the very least, I can see that causing problems for RPQs and other events, when only a small minority of players have access to new, potentially meta impacting cards like smoke grenades for nearly two months. Life ain't fair, I agree, but still would seem odd to me.

My best guess and hope is clone wars will be released in September. They can’t dump all 4 remaining expansions on us in one month. That’s too much $$$ to spend on this game at one time.

Ffg has handled that before by saying product is only legal after general release. They may simply say you can buy it early but it can’t be used in organized play events.

They have done that before with xwing (1.0, obviously with 2.0 now they can hard force the issue by refusing to disclose points until they want)

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will cause issues, especially if there is nearly a two month gap in there.

Rebel stuff did say it was now releasing quarter 3 on the article, so it might have been pushed back to post gen con.

The Clone Wars stuff was always set to release in Quarter 3, so July-September is still the window. The GCW early articles did originally say Q2, but that always seemed to be a bit silly, and likely not what was supposed to be stated.

Or really was the original plan. After all, the Veterans were released in Q2 in Spain (alongside Bossk and Sabine). FFG tends to be mum about the reason behind delays.
