Also you probably want some sort of way to toss focii to your torp carriers. I think people are going to quickly discover how meh single modded torpedoes feel![]()
It goes beyond that. Advanced SLAM only grants you an action "on your action bar." This doesn't include abilities which have the " Action: " header.
How did I learn this: because I'd expressed the same thought you did (the stress getting in the way), and someone else corrected me.

Howabout 4 Nu Squadron (Gunboats), with passive sensors, protorps and autoblasters?
RE: @ClassicalMoser
I think Gunboats are a lot scarier than N-1s. They've got 7 HP instead of 5, and N-1s have to go fast in order to maintain the Full Throttle Evades they'll probably need to not-die before they shoot, which means it'll be a lot easier to range control the N-1s, and do a Range 4 to Range 1 jump. It kind of reminds me of how Cruise Missile ships in 1e were at a disadvantage to good flying.
Despite SLAM not playing well with Passive Sensors, Gunboats can slowroll down at 1-speed, and it'll be a lot harder to range control them. Even if someone does jump straight to the Range 1 band, they'll have to avoid bullseyes too, since those will still be 4-dice attacks on Passive Sensors rounds.
SLAM does seem like it's at a bit of a disadvantage over flip moves like Talon Rolls. It certainly isn't as good at jousting. But taking a bit more time to disengage on a few SLAM moves and reset doesn't seem too bad. And with Autoblasters, they'll still be able to SLAM and shoot.
