Seppie U-Wing?

By Ghostofman, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Working my CW campaign, and I'm needing a light utility shuttle for the CIS, preferably something helicopter inspired that can accept side-facing door guns like the U-wing, so Sheathipede/Predator isn't really what I want.

Anyone know of an existing shuttle that fits my description, or am I going to have to start home brewing?

So like a seppie LAATI?

Not really armed, but same idea.

Cockpit, small cargo/passenger area for say... a dozen or so people, doors on the side, not much else to it.

Right now best I got is:

A) Build something totally new

B) Slap the gun on the rear ramp of a Sheathipede like you see on CH-47s or 53s

C) Mount a ground buzzer on a Sheathipede

D) Use a Predator with personnel "coffins" and punish the players for their hubris! 😈

Option A or B would probably accomplish my overall narrative objectives, but between all the comics I haven't read and video games I haven't played (even though they are in my steam library) I wanted to make sure exactly what I wanted wasn't already out there somewhere.

I saw reskin a LAATI and drop a bunch of the weapons

Why not just use the U-Wing stat block, alter what bits you need to alter (such as weaponry load out and/or placement), and call it something other than a U-Wing?

That's essentially Plan A.

I'm less concerned with the stats (I can yank a stat block out of my thermal exhaust port anytime) and more just the vehicle identity.

I'd rather not invent a "Derpipede combat utility vehicle" soup to nuts if there's already a "K-90 combat transport" as seen in Mace Windu Comics #14, that's already in-universe and just needs a stat block to go with it.

Sounding like if none of you have heard of such a thing though, it's off to the drawing board with me...

The Sheathipede seems to be build with variations on the central segments resulting in different lengths. Variant segments with side doors (and door guns) shouldn't be too hard to do.

You might want to try the nubian design Collective's whole vehicle crafting handbook, I'm pretty sure that you will be able use them to make something to meet your needs and have it be balanced with official ships.
