Most loved pilots/ships

What are your favorite ships/pilots to fly?

When the Tie Phantom came out I learned to love the ships that have some weird mechanic that makes them great, and then I found scum...

My absolute favorite mechanics are tractor beams and bombs, so naturally my favorite ship became the Quadrijet Spacetug (aka tugboat). They aren't top meta anymore, but still have a place in some janky fun lists. I have won many furball, king-of-the-hill, and other variant games with Contable Zuvio.

What ships keep you coming back to the x-wing tables because they are just so much fun to fly?

Any fang except joy. Separatist Drone. Grievous. CLT Ahsoka. Talli. Black Squadron Ace (t-70). Serissu.

Mostly stuff with a solid dial, and the ability to do some limited repositioning without perfect information that can pay off in extra mods, but that has to risk getting reduced efficiency of you "miss" your window.

No. 1. Echo. Easy.

Then, in no particular order...

SNR TIE v1s. 7th Sister is the best of them. Even if SNR is anti-synergistic with her ability and makes her rather expensive, it's still monstrously good. She's also great with nothing though.

AS Guri. Feels like flat out cheating against lower init. Dalan is even more fun but oddly frustrating at times. Still makes the list with ease.

Fangs. Any but poor, rubbish Joy. Simple, effective monster where the dial selection is all important, every single turn. He who dares, wins.

TIE Reaper. Probably Feroph or Vizier on top. I get huge enjoyment from just flying it about, dropping the sloop is always massively satisfying.

AS and Outmanoeuvre Ryad. Mental price for an exceptionally limited damage output, but so wild.

Trick Shot Zuckuss! Well loaded with toys. Ridiculous fun.

Very much liking Assaj atm, but need more time to settle on that one.

HWKS in general, with Jan in particular. Love me some Fangs, RZ-2s, Boba, Ventress, Rebel Sabine, and E-Wings.

#1 favorite pilot: Major Vynder. He was my favorite in 1.0 and is still my favorite.

#2 close second: Old Teroch. Pilot and ship ability make for good fun. Nothing like boosting into range 1 in a faceoff and feeling confident I won't take any damage.

#3 newcomer to my top 3: Guri. Advanced Sensors and Outmaneuver is ridiculous and ridiculously fun.

Other favorites in no particular order: Vader, Vermeil, RAC, Kavil, Republic Ahsoka, Luke but I find the T-65 chassis to be so limited, Rhymer: Nobody expects the R1 ProTorps and R2 Prockets, Norra (ARC), Whisper, Echo, Tavson because crazy action economy on an unwieldy shuttle is hilarious.

I want to like Joy Rekkoff so much but to make any use of their ability you have to pop an ion torp on them and now they are more expensive than Old Teroch. So why not just go with Old Teroch?

i guess mainly mainly the classics, can’t get enough of them.

Echo, Duchess, Seventh Sister, Mace, Porkins, Feroph, Pure Sabaac, Guri, Ahsoka

Basically any ship with movement shenanigans. Or I3/4 that can move like their hair is on fire.

Talonbane Cobra's been a strong contender since 1.0. The Kihraxz fighter was one of the first ships I bought, and I've never lost interest in flying it - almost every other pilot for it in 2.0 is just as fun, to me, as well. I love Graz, Viktor Hel, even poor old Jostero, though I seldom fly him. Not enough support for his ability, I find, though I haven't really focused on him in a long time, or given him some dedicated support.

Guri, Dalan (Starviper), Kulbee Spearado, Jek Porkins, Quinn Jast, Countess Ryad, Ten Numb, and Poe.

A-Wings, all the A-Wings!!!

B-Wings, all the B-Wings!!!

TIE Interceptors, all the TIE Interceptors!!!

I also really like Luke and Wedge in 2.0, and I wish we had more of the Red/Rogue Squadron pilots from 1.0.

Guri, Fenn, Old T, I1 Quadjumper and Scyk Cartel Spacer with Tractor beam.

DALAN OBEROS with Advanced sensors and Autothrusters feels like he can go anywhere, but I never make him worth his points.

In order:

1. Tie advanced V1 - specifically the generic inquisitor! omg that ship is so good.

2. Tie interceptors - I really like soontir and the alpha squadron generics.

3. Belbullub-22 - all of them, they are fantastic. Very good action bar, very good stat lines, and a challenge to fly correctly with there limited blue's. When you do fly them well they feel so **** good.

I'd like to see him come down a bit but the real problem is not him so much as his upgrades. He's a little underwhelming without all the toys. With them, he's pretty awesome, but therein lies the frustration of having to make him worth it. Particularly since he spends a decent amount of time stressed.

He is ridiculous nonsense loaded up though, I love it. I played him in a store tourney with Outmanoeuvre, AS and Pro Torps. It was pretty bonkers*. He would have been amazing if I didn't have the worst dice I've ever had all flipping day :D

*I even picked up a loose stabilizer and didn't need to bother fixing it for 3 turns....

As you can see, I’m not doing great in 2.0...

First crush was the TIE/fo. The old Juke/Comm Relay Omega leader. Epsilon Ace as a beautiful pest. Wired Zeta Leader, although Crack Shot would have been better.

Had an on-again, off-again thing with Poe. Haven't spent much time with him lately.

Spent a bit too long trying to make things work with bombing K-Wings. We broke up some time before Nym, and it's better that way.

Starvipers, since Guns for Hire. The things they can do with that barrel roll. Mmhmm.

Since 2e, I've really enjoyed hanging out Fangs and TIE/sfs. I didn't hate them in 1e, but it never really clicked back then. I just really love the way they got updated into 2e. Fangs can actually take talents now, and Concordia is just so easy. TIE/sfs have the sweetest two-ships-in-one design, and 2-dice rear guns have really surprised me. Pretty chill, nothing serious, but it's great.

After spending pretty much all of 1.0 doing nothing but exploding as soon as anything stared at him, I'm glad to have Wedge on the table, and not only that, but seeing him in a dominant meta list in a fighter that has had some much needed improvements. Everyone's clamoring for his cost to go up, but I hope they leave him right where the **** he is so he doesn't vanish again. They already nerfed his sweet sweet torpedoes.

Any of the X-wing pilots really, and the U-wings as well. I love that medium base, the change to its pivot wing mechanics, and the pilot abilities.

Now I just hope and dream that the TIE Interceptor sees some love, although Soontir is fun and I put him in all my Imperial lists.

Non kylo silencers. The test pilots with fanatical and optics are some of the most fun I’ve had In 2.0

Garven in a T-65; even in 1e I'd try to squeeze him into any Rebel list.

Anything HWK; super-pleased with their presence/update for 2e.

Gavin Darklighter is my guy. His ability triggers so often it is like damage cards only get played face up. The defeated look on your opponent’s face when you casually turn a hit to a crit for the twentieth time in a game is worth penalty of flying a ps4 ship.

Echo, Soontir, and Duchess always guarantee a grand ol' time with their acrobatics.

I miss the TL/evade TAP of days long past, and someday will make those inquisitors shine........ Someday.....

I have a soft spot for the poor M3-A, which is still bad despite multiple attempts to fix it. It's like the runt of the litter. One day, little Scyk... one day FFG will work out how to make you not be terrible...

Maybe I missed it, but nobody’s said Hera? I just love the Ghost in and of itself, love the gang from the show, love flying the biggest non-epic ship in the game...

E-Wings and Wookiees are my other loves in the Rebel faction.

Trade Federation Vultures, bc fite me on the necessity of that initiative jump :P
