I've been asked by a friend to paint a Lancer Pursuit craft in a livery that uses many of the same colors as the stock Scurgg H-6 bomber.
Here's a mockup of the livery I'm shooting for:
I'm out of my comfort zone here, since I typically prefer painting bolder and weirder looks. I'd really like to do a good job, and I'm happy that this project is giving me an excuse to really focus on fundamentals (clean, even painting and highlighting) and not go crazy on gimmickry.
Using Citadel paint color names, what are the colors I should be using on this project? I attempted to use the Games Workshop Citadel Painting System chart, but working off of a PDF and an uncalibrated monitor, I'm worried that my guesses might be off.
Here is an annoted mockup, showing my best guesses on the colors I think I'll need to make this happen. At ~$7/pot, GW paint ain't cheap. I'd really appreciate help in making sure I get the right stuff. (I'm open to using Vallejo paints too, but I've mostly been using GW stuff over the years.)
1. Deep red/brown: Doombull Brown
2. Medium warm grey: Mournfang Brown or Rakarth Flesh (?)
3. Lighter warm tan: Karak Stone (?)
4. Darker warm grey: Stormvermin fur (?)
5. Light neutral grey: Administratum Grey
6. Dark neutral grey: Mechanicus Standard Grey
Thanks in advance for any feedback and help on this project!
