So the terrain challenge for this month is a piece of Prequel-era/Clone Wars terrain. While everyone else is going for such cool concepts as crashed vehicles and Prequel battlegrounds, I decided to go the generic route and build a couple of outpost buildings.
I looked at a lot of stills from various sources, drawing light inspiration from Muunilist and heavy inspiration from Clone Wars Mandalore. In the end, it all came down to slapping a bunch of boxes together in an interesting shape and calling it good.
First up we have what I've decided is a manufacturing/refueling station, likely for fixing up droids.
Rear shot of some more straw-piping and some energy-box-things.
Next up, the forward HQ. Inspired a bit by Muunilist towers, with two (admittedly janky) pillars forming the main tower.
Rear shot. The blue masking tape was an attempt to cover an appalling abundance of corrugation. I'm not sure which was worse.
Still very much in the early stages, and with a move happening as we speak I might not get to work on it very much in the foreseeable future--for now I wanted to just stake my claim to being in the running to build something this month.
Obviously, these fellas aren't gonna win any awards (except maybe "Shoddiest Craftsmanship"), but the point for me was to make something that's easy enough that I would actually finish it. As is, I could just slap some paint on it and call it "good enough" for my tastes, but I really wanna add some more small details. As well, I'm focusing on only using cheap, easily available resources--the building blocks I used here are actually previous attempts at building a series of basic shacks (they were too squarish and boring, but slapped together they make a nice complex).
