Counterattack Question

By Vince79, in The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth

This is probably a dumb question, but it came up recently and I wanted to make sure I played it right.

Legolas was able to shoot his bow and attack an enemy two spaces away. Aragorn was in the same space as the enemy. Could the enemy counterattack?

I said he could not because Legolas was too far away (the enemy was not Ranged). I wondered for a moment if he could attack Aragorn, but since Aragorn had not attacked him I again said no.

Is that correct?

Hi,

That is correct, a counter attack is only valid against the hero that originally attacked not another hero in their space.

Wait I'm confused, how to did he shoot his bow two spaces away? I'm only a few chapters in, but am I missing something?

"The hero can target an enemy group in an adjacent space if all
of that hero’s chosen items have the ranged icon."

Legolas has a card called "Keen Eyes". When prepared, it allows him to attack enemies one additional space away effectively making his range 2 instead of 1. Super handy ability that I've used to great effect to save some fellow players.

Archangel's right, Legolas had the "Keen Eyes" card prepared.
