Without the Upsilon and the TIE Shuttle, the Galactic Empire is a little short on solid crew carriers. In addition, there's a shortage of new Canon material to grant a new design to the Galactic Empire (which hasn't seen a new ship since the TIE Reaper).
Enter Director Orson Krennic. The Delta-Class T-3c shuttle was never going to go into production, but when he saw the design, he was impressed and ordered a production run, one of which he kept for himself. This could fill in a the much-needed niche for a cheap, light support shuttle as the Escape Craft, Sheathipede, Resistance Pod, etc. do for other factions. Let the baseless speculation begin!
First off, it's worth noting that the Delta-class is MUCH smaller than the Lambda. 12.5m compared to the Lambda's 25 in length makes it about half size. I doubt a small base would be possible, but a medium would present an adequate compromise. Given the smaller size, 4 hull and 2-3 shields seems appropriate. The defining characteristic of the ship is its emphasis on stealth technology and covert operations, so either an agility of 2 or a ship-ability of something like Cloaking Device would make sense. Perhaps 4 health, 3 shields, one agility and the ship ability:
Stealth Profile - While you are shielded, increase your agility value by 1.
This would effectively give it a vaguely similar survivability to the U-Wing, except it will burn down quickly once the shields are gone.
On to the dial! A support ship with just a tad more maneuvering flexibility than the Reaper or Lambda would be nice, and would fit in with a smaller, more specialized ship. I'm thinking of a dial something like the Auzituck's or HWK's with white turns but no turnaround maneuver and limited blues. Zero-stop optional and definitely red if so.
Slots! There should definitely be only one crew slot. My reasoning? First, I want it to be cheaper. Second, the interior is about the size of the Attack Shuttle's.
Compare to the much larger Lambda:
A sensor slot would make sense, and probably the absence of a mod, though alternatively Krennic's title could give it a sensor slot.
Finally, I would argue for a cannon slot and a primary of 2. This keeps the cost down and plays toward the thematics of a stealthy control ship.
By the same token, an action bar of white focus, white jam, red coordinate makes the most sense to me. I could see a reinforce too, or maybe a red boost, but there are no other actions that seem right for this.
For the title, a red cloak runs the risk of resembling the Scimitar too strongly, especially on a Jamming ship, but if the secondary text is different enough, it could help.
Perhaps: • ST-149: Adds [red cloak]. Add [Sensor] slot. While attacking with a [cannon] secondary weapon, roll one additional die. 16 pts.
And then a base cost of 36-38 for generics, scaling upward by initiative to an I5 around 50.
TLDR:
Attack 2, Agility 1, Shields 3, Hull 4.
Actions: Focus, red Coordinate, Jam
Ship ability: Stealth Profile - While defending, if you are shielded, roll one additional defense die.
Dial: 0 red stop, 1 blue straight and banks, 2 blue straight, white banks and turns, 3 white straight, red banks and turns, 4 red straight.
Slots: Cannon, Crew
Title: ST-149 - Add red cloak, add sensor slot, while you attack with a [cannon], roll one additional attack die. 16 pts.
36-50 pt pilots.
It gives some really interesting options: You can take ISB and JB just for the control. You can take just Tactical for a cheap coordinate. Krennic and FCS with the title gives you a stealthy support fighter, or Sloane on her own gives you a fragile but cheaper and faster chassis.
But it won't carry Palp or Death Troopers, which is fine because existing transports do that better anyway.
What do you think? Does this seem about right, or is it way off the mark? The title may be a bit OP or too expensive to see much use, though I like the difference it would give the chassis.
