slow rollout of reprinted ships... im not feeling the new wave 4? ships for scum... Z-95 and Jump5K... where is the new content? 7 factions has put anything new rebels, scum, imperials, FO on ice for foreseeable future. I get its a process but its a rather drawn out one, depending which faction(s) you play.
Look I get being unhappy with the lack of new content and prospective new content for the original factions.
But some perspective please. Scum has, until the official release of wave 4, a tie for the most new ships in 2.0. The Lando Falcon, Escape Craft, and MGT. 3 new ships, only matched by the Republic and Separatists.
Now, However, they will both surpass with 4 once the new wave is actually put. But even then they’ll still have more than any faction but those.

borrow off a seperatist player and hope he isnt using it. these things r gonna be as rare as 2.0 shield tokens to begin with. at least theyre not faction locked. imo not good enough to justify buying out of faction. im scum. long wait between drinks for new content for us. the drawback of having more ships than any other faction? My Rebels and Empire are crying laughing at this. You've gotten 3 new ships since 2.0 came out. We've had literally no new content since Wave I unless we buy out of faction (which the devs have assured me I will not have to do). As a matter of principle, I'm not.
Of course, all this is only until our CARD PACKS finally come!

We haven’t gotten a new ship since 1.0, almost exactly a year ago, when the Reaper released. We also got negative ships when 2.0 dropped as we lost all FO ships, as well as the Firespray.
Rebels didn’t get a new ship since December of 2017, with the Sheathipede. They also lost the Resistance ships and Nym.
So on balance in the last year the Empire is -4 ships, and Rebels -3.
Honestly I’d be more annoyed we’re it not for the fact that a) more Empire ships are viable than in 1.0, so even with fewer ships I have more choices b) the Republic is so dang much fun, and has new ships.
Scum is the largest faction. It didn’t lose any ships moving to 2.0. I get that there is no new stuff for them on the horizon, but they have far far less to be impatient for than Rebels or Empire.

Two points
1) Hyperspace limits scum options (would be nice to have Drea and Kavil in this format which would open up some squad options such as mining guild swarm/z-95 swarm)
2) extended is where scum has more options than any other faction but a decent number of those ships are not good enough to be competitive right now.
This still leaves a reasonable number of options but how many of them are competitive vs what other factions are bringing?
scurgg/drea, Ketsu/Old Teroch/Kavil, Ketsu/OldT/Talonbane, access to Guri, Fenn, Kavil, customised YT, escape craft are all viable but things get squashy for points
you have to dig deep to find something that is competitive... 4 ship rebel squads pretty much build themselves. Scum has great init 5 pilots, one of their strengths, but ur up against Wedge, Vader/Soontir and super action efficient jedi pilots which requires some careful list building/ship selection to be competitive.
bring on card packs! i got enough ships, i want some new options. everyone does. scum got spoiled early on with ship spam, now we are going to have to wait for the other factions to catch up.

It has 8 health, 3 agility, boost, a great dial, double calculate (with sharing), and it only takes a third of your list. Is it just because that perfect 3rd ship isn't around yet, or is there something I'm missing? I'm wanting to run A and C soon, with nothing but AS on both, still leaving 46 for a decent filler.

ur only seeing a small pool of ships, even for extended. scum has a potential 19 ships, bigger pool than any other faction but what is actually being played at the top tables is very small.
competitive play is differnt to casual play. at tournaments ur going to play with what wins. this limits ur ship selections because ur trying to play something u feel is competitive vs what the other factions are bringing. its really quite a narrow field at that point. sure you can play something off the radar if you like. scum has a quirky toolbox of ships that fit that mold. i have big respect for ppl who can do well with unexpected lists. Old Para was one of the few squads to emerge for scum that looking different from the norm and was winning. Ketsu and Talonbane? wow didnt see that coming. turns out they are pretty good. Ketsu with Old Teroch and another 5 init ace is very solid, even vs vader and wedge.

I know Scum hasn’t been high up in the cuts lately, but they’re still rocking some very good ships. And some slight tweaks (say dialing down Rebel Beef and Quad Phantoms) And they’ll flourish again.
I just think the doom and gloom from Scum over their options… well it chafes me. Be sad over the lack of new ships, sure, but to complain they are particularly hard up for options compared to the other OT factions rings very false.

fair points. i am a single faction player. im comparing scum now with scum 6 months go before the points adjustments to boba, han crew, escape craft, advanced senors, moldy crow title, gunrunner, proton torp etc. Back then scum was dominant at the top tables and now its not. its a cycle i know and things will get shaken up again with the next points adjustment.
i can see imperials is an even worse spot, FO and Resistance even worse off still. We have all made our faction choices. wonder how many ppl are single faction?
im comparing what im seeing at the top tables and theres redundancy across the board, a symptom of a 'solved meta' where there are no more surprises to be seen with winning squads. Im looking fwd to the next points adjustment to shake things up a bit... all factions want new content... im in line waiting like everyone... sounds like there are even longer lines than the one im standing in.
Scum players have lots of options. On the outside it looks fantastic. 19 ships to choose from! On the inside you start to breakdown what is competitive in current meta and the choices start to quickly narrow. You need a game plan vs Rebel Beef and init 6 aces.
scum has a really nice selection of ships, im just growing bored of them. FO and Resistance players. You must be feeling like uv been left out in the cold totally!

For my entirety of the game I’ve been a rebel player and with the jump to 2nd edition I’ve just not been feeling what the rebels can do. Sure beef is good but it just feels boring. Since jumping to fire order I’ve been having more fun despite the limited ship pool

I think these two are related.
See there is a top meta that has kind of clicked. Now it’s not ‘solved’, plenty could disrupt it, but there is little incentive to invent a list that breaks open the meta currently. Why create the next ‘Hatcetman’ when either the list itself, or the things it’s designed to hunt, are likely to change points soon? Either fly a known good, or something you just like for the next month, and don’t bother trying to design and refine something for competitive when it’ll not matter in a month.
Me? I fly whatever jank I like no matter what. Last game it was Night Beast, Sai, Seventh Sister, and Whisper. Why? Because it was fun. And would I fly it in a tournament?
Well yeah, probably.
But I’m not going to try and spend much time creating a quad phantom counter now. I’ll wait for the N1 and the points changes.
So as we hit the end of a cycle, I think that the last month or two probably do just devolve I to a ‘solved’ state.

Not disagreeing, but this is probably why Genesis Red isn't seeing the table competitively despite them being a really good S&V option for Phantom hunting. Namely via Juke + Ion Cannon or HLC and a slight bid, maybe with Afterburners too if you have the points. Their ability just screams Phantom killer.

34pts. seems worth it but needs 3atk dice cannon to be more of a threat. lets see if pts adjustment helps this ship. perhaps plasma torps will find a home on it?

It's not that hard a counter to Phantoms and gets trashed by everything that counters them.
