Nice article. Just enough to really tease without giving it all away.

I don't find it in the CRB. What's Unwieldy 3?

Requires Agility 3 to wield properly - the Agility equivalent to Brawn's Cumbersome.

I can't remember what the cost is if you don't meet the requirement though - Setback I assume?

That Quality is in Force and Destiny Core

It's in Force and Destiny, and pretty much works like Cumbersome (increase difficulty if you don't have a characteristic equal to or higher than the listed number) except that it keys to Agility instead of Brawn.

Increase the difficulty (not upgrade!) to use by 1 per point you are under the Unwieldy rank. So if your Agility is only 2, the difficulty to use it is increased by 1. If your Agility is only 1 than it's two purple dice added to use it.

Not complaining, but I find it odd that getting the tree simply doesn't grant Force Rating 1 like other trees and instead there's a 5XP talent to get it. Any thoughts on why this is?

Probably because not all Nightsisters or Nightbrothers are Force sensitive.

The interesting thing is that for the other force sensitive trees (and Recruit) they don't get class skills and have early talents that give them skills at 2 per 5 XP. Nightsister gets 4 skills and pays only 5 XP for force rating.

Surprised that Summon Item isn't a Force Talent.

There is also a Force Power that effectively does that. My guess is that it's hinting that the Witches tap into the Force, but some of their abilities do not require the use of the Force....or it could just be a typo!

Might be worth sending a customer support email asking

Well it states a "ritually prepared item", which implies some force use and I'm sure we'll get more flavour on this in the book.

Maybe other characters could ritually prepare an item for another character, a leader sending their cronies into an area with no weapons that suddenly appear in their hands is very dark...

It's a little bit of power creep, but not really too much of a big deal. Granted career skills often overlap, and so to does FR1, so the effect on a character won't usually result in a lot of difference in play.

Could represent Nightsisters who have a minimal affinity for the force, only being able to do a couple of tricks rather than hurling boulders across the landscape.

Yeah it doesnt look like this spec gives force rating from what i see.. it gives skills not force rating

It doesn't give Force rating, but you can buy a Force rating of 1 for a whole 5 XP from it.

I missed that

Getting the initial force rating through a talent gives me an idea. Unknown force sensitivity was often written as high "luck" (an escaping prisoner in a Jedi museum steals a lightsaber to use as a weapon, and he just so happens to pick the only one that still works, which is also his father's lightsaber) and hunches. Perhaps that talent could be used for an "Oblivious Force-Sensitive" specialization that only gains force rating 1 later in the tree (through a d/b shaped tree?) but has abilities like Second Chances and Heighted Awareness that aren't force talents but flavored as such?

You can also jump from no Force to having Force Rating 2, or 5, or whatever with the purchase of that talent. Just hoard Force talents (including multiple Force Ratings) and then enable them all by buying this talent.

How so? I thought it was gain FR 1 not FR +1. So if you saved it, the bought 1 from another career, it wouldn't do anything. I'm not seeing how you can use it to push beyond 1 quickly.

Yeah, the wording is different from adding to your force rating, its the same wording as the jedi padawan spec "gain force rating 1".

If you already have it, it's useless, if you don't have it then you gain a force rating of 1.
